Default Calling All DIY Detailers. How Do I Clean This?

I've taken some parts off to do a deep cleaning. IDK how to clean the gunk out of the tight spots inside the letters.

What I've done so far: Wash with soap. First with mitt then brush. Then Isopropyl Alcohol.

The pictures show my progress or lack thereof.

Any help appreciated.

You need a detailed brush. Soap and water, then use compressed air.

I've tried all that. Whatever that muck is it isn't budging. Maybe steam?

I can polish the outer pieces back to looking like new no problem. I just don't know how to get into the spots inside the letters PORSCHE. I'll try the vinegar. Thanks.

I recommend using CarPro Spotless - great product as always from CarPro - https://www.carpro-us.com/deep-clean...er-500ml-17oz/

you can also get a sample for $3.99

On top of that, buy some microfiber applicators and apply Reload so you’ll not have to worry about waterspots for a while https://www.carpro-us.com/latest-arr...00ml-17oz-new/

While you’re at it, apply Reload to your whole car after you wash it. It’s worth the effort, I promise.

agree. If vinegar isnt strong enough, try a descaler. Theyre often sold for cleaning coffee makers (think of all the metal deposits on the heating elements, similar to what you'd see in a hand held steamer if you looked inside).

Lime and scale removers can also work but its a harsher chemical so dont know what that would do to the finish.

You want to polish it with a light/medium polish like sonax perfect finish. You can wrap a microfiber around your finger and dab it with polish. If that's not enough to get in the cracks, get creative: something that will fit and allow for some oscillation. Be thorough when you remove the polish residue. Something like this could help get it to 100%:

If that's something you really want to restore to new, you will need a Moto Dremel tool with buffer pads and some polish of your choice. That will certainly do the trick

These are very handy to have around if you don't have one.
