As much as I want to justify the purchase of my 992.1 being better than holding off to wait for the 992.2 - Porsche has never failed to create timeless designs that stand the test of time despite negative perceptions upon release. The 992.2 will be a better car in terms of design (not relating to hybrid variants). It has been the same for the 996, 997, 991, and I'm certain the 992 will follow the same trend.

100% agree with you that the 992.2 will be a better variant of the 992.1. Porsche has never failed to produce a better 911 and don't think they'll start with the 992.2.

That's not a handsome car. I agree that we're losing something by moving the turn signals into the headlights.
I am sure that it is faster and everything up front "does something", but if you're a 992.1 owner right now, you should be feeling pretty good about your depreciation prospects.
Yes, every 911 generation is a "better" car than the last. With that acknowledged, this is the biggest visual front end change since the 996.1->996.2 transition -- and that evolution was an improvement. This does not look to be an aesthetic improvement. It's a step backwards. I think that the biggest problem here is that Porsche appears to be giving in to bigger picture design trends. The 911 has always done best going its own way.
I'm going to wait until they fix it with the 994. 😜

As a long time and current BMW owner (M8 & X3), Porsche so far seems much better at keeping with their heritage and not coming out with radical new ugly designs to **** off their customer base. That front is not attractive, but I'm hoping that once the production models and options are released that there will be some more basic Porsche like attractive options.

Yup, like that. I owned that M4 for a year. Amazing car other than the front. I didn't hate the front, but I didn't love it like I did the prior generation and sold it after a year to get the M8. All of their other recent offering are pushing me away from the brand I've been buying since 2006. There is a rumored new 6 series, but I have low expectations of the looks of it based on all of their other recent new designs. So far Porsche hasn't gone crazy like that. The X3 and X5 are still great though and I'll probably keep buying one of those along with my upcoming 911
