Default LED Headlights in Black (PDLS) vs LED-Matrix Design Headlights in Black (PDLS+)

Does anyone have a real life side-by-side comparison of the two headlight options, or individual photos of both? I realize functionality is the same for US-spec cars but I'm wondering how the hardware compares in terms of outward appearance.

This question relates specifically to the black versions of both headlights.

My understanding is that PDLS has different functionality versus PDLS Plus. The difference is PDLS Plus has the Auto High-Beam dimming, where the PDLS does not.

You can get photos of the headlights from various cars for sale on Dealer Lots via their online pictures and options.

Good morning. Aren't those "Matrix" and "PDLS+" (Top and bottom)? PDLS (without the +) should have a white or silver top component (but without the "chrome border" around the edge of the glass) while the Matrix beams have the "X" pattern DRL's, don't they? (PDLS and PDLS+ both have the "four dots" DRL's, with only the "+" variant having the chrome outer ring like the Matrix ones), while Matrix has them on a slant, looking like an "X," no?) I'm not positive on this however!

That's more difficult than you might think. There aren't a lot of 911s sitting unsold on dealer lots and from what I've come across the pictures leave much to be desired, at least when it comes to close-ups of the headlights.

I did my own side-by-side comparison of renderings from the configurator (with the same car otherwise) but I don't think it gives a great sense what they'd look like in person.

Suncoast has good pictures of the LED-Matrix in Black (PDLS+) but unfortunately not the standard LEDs in black.

Go to the configurator and click on the info symbol for each light. That gives a pretty good idea of how the various lights look. The Matrix lights can be reprogrammed to Euro spec for a fee (not by Porsche).

See my post above. From the photos I’ve seen the configurator’s rendering isn’t super realistic. I’ve made that comparison already so was hoping for some actual photos instead of the renderings.

You really need to be specific which trim level 911 headlights you're comparing. The GTS specifically, has black housings as standard on the headlights.

Here's my 'silver' LED matrix vs black LED matrix upgrade from Suncoast... only visible difference is it's blacker-er (eg trim rings, highlights and inner details).

Oo excellent shots — thanks! Now just need to see a standard LED headlight in black!
