I was never a fan of cabs, owned one, but was glad to get rid of it for a coupe. Couldn't own just a Targa because if I was to replace my 992 C2S, it would be for an Aerokit 992.
So the logical conclusion is I need a world where I have 2 992s, a Targa and an Aerokit coupe. Unfortunately that world doesn't exist for me currently, regardless of whether I could obtain either or both allocations.

It’s a really nice exterior color combo and hides dirt well. I considered a cab first as he ADM isn’t very much, but the resale on them sucks compared to the Targa. Targas really hold value well due to production numbers. Just look at the ask for a 991.2 Targa these days. Also, the Targa GTS is even more rare than the 4s so more bonus points. I like that it looks like a coupe too with the top up vs the floating bath tub look of a cab. That’s obviously just my opinion, but a lot feel the same. My prior favorite car was my McLaren Spider but this is hands down better in every way and I like have the back glass behind me but still open air feel. The targa mechanism is just plain cool looking in operation, but remember you have to be completely stopped to use it unlike a cab and the cycle time is 19 seconds. Again though, the back seats for me kids… priceless.

You'd be going from the lightest sports car they make to the heaviest, bear that in mind.

30 k ADM in this market on a Targa , is not outrageous , but I personally will not pay it
I see some of these Targa 4 GTS going for 230-240 k
I think for this money , TTS is a much better car overall, and the market on these is getting softer
for the record , I drove a 991.2 Targa 4S and I hated the noise buffeting
also recently drove a 992 GTS which felt to me like a tuned version of my old 992 4S , but overall, did not blow me away
when I moved from 992 4S to 992 TTS , it was a huge delta

The current bid on this 2023 Targa 4S is at MSRP with about 2.5 hours to go.

PDK and about 600 ODO and 150k MSRP

Let's see what the final numbers end at. I'm guessing at least 30k over MSRP.

Good info there. Remember buyer pays additional auction fee up to 5k I believe so he got it for 19k over. That’s an ugly color combo with undesirable options too. Makes me feel good about my 17k over with loaded options and desirable combo.

It actually did not meet reserve.

Final bid was something like 164k, or about 14k over MSRP. (ex auction fee).

not trying to start a debate , but car market softness is finally catching up to 911 variants , some more than others. It does not mean market is collapsing but certainly normalizing slowly which I do believe is a good thing
and certainly, as we all know, non GT cars will be affected faster and more significant than GT cars

I don't think anyone will seriously argue with you about the car market.

The frothiness in the car market -- all cars, not just Porsches or 911 (heck a Chevy Trax is commanding a markup - WTF!) - will eventually subside.

These things go in cycles. It just depends on timing and when you jump in.

And just like the stock market. which also goes in cycles, trying to time the market can often times come back to bite you in the ***.

Like those folks 2 years ago when the 992 GT3 was introduced and the ADM was 30-50k, they all said just wait a year or two when the RS is introduced and you'll get MSRP no problem. Well, we're 2 years after the GT3 was introduced and the RS is here, and what's the ADM? Still about 30k-40k, plus PAG has now increased the MSRP for the GT3. So there's that too.

TL;DR timing the market is a fool's errand, and you don't want to be a fool.

So, I decided to skip on the Targa. Instead, I got this T and decided to keep the Spyder. I just couldn’t get over the automatic box on the Targa.

Now I have the best of both. Manual Spyder and 992T!

On a warm sunny day, it’s hard to beat the top down in the Spyder. T will be my daily.

One man’s opinion - nothing like a Targa. The Spyder is one hell of a car, but if you appreciate open air motoring, showing my age, nothing comes close, especially on the road. Long road trips in a Targa are lifetime memories….. trust me :-)

Bravo. My first 911 was a Targa. Cool concept but depends on your priorities and life situation. Trading a Spyder for a Targa would've seem tragic to me unless you were doing it for kids. The Spyder is agile. The Targa... not so much. the T is awesome and it looks great in Gentinan. With all the Agate deleted or replaced with black, have you considered wrapping the mirrors black?
