how can you find out if a car was used at the porsche preformance center
good friend looking at a 992s that was only titled to porsche as a corporate car .
Could be an ex driven car or one they beat the sh-t out of on the track?
dealer of course says it doesn't know which could be pure BS?
Is there any way to check buy VIN?
thanks carl

They used to be equipped with PCCB, 18way, sunroof delete (up to 991.2 at least).
Also, titled to PCNA Atlanta. From Alabama, they would be sold around 12-15k miles.
I wouldn't touch those cars with a 10ft pole. They are pounded on the track. CPO is a joke. Funny how the warranty book says coverage is voided if the car ever sees a track, even if sponsored by Porsche. VW hypocrisy.

If you can find the original Monroney sticker, the 'delivered to' part on the right side, about halfway down (also the 'sold to') would list "PCNA Atlanta Performance Center" or something similar. I have found several 911s that are listed as being sold to and delivered to the Atlanta Performance Center, Skip Barber school in AL, and a Technical Center in PA when I searched for GTS and S 992s on the Porsche website. They varied in mileage from 3,000 to 10,000 miles.
Needless to say, I took a hard pass on every one of those.
That might be an option though, at least for the newer ones that you can find the sticker on.

If the first registration event for the car on Carfax was >1000 miles, then it was likely either a press car, dealer demo, corporate demo, PECATL/PECLA car etc. Dealer demo would be serviced at the local dealer, so that's a giveaway. Corporate demos in the past were often serviced at the local ATL dealers, but I think Porsche has a service facility at PECATL, so that may not be the case anymore. Press cars will show servicing across the country.
As mentioned, also depends where it was delivered/sold to. If you're buying a car from the dealer and they were the ones that bought it from auction after PCNA is done with the cars, I'd recommend letting them know you know it was used by Porsche in some capacity and see if they come clean with what it was used for.

I don’t understand why anyone would care. These cars are meant for that duty. When I traded in my 992, the dealer folks commented to me that it sounded like a Porsche experience car. I owned the car since new and the 35k miles that it had were lived very well. 😉 Its new owner has put a gazillion more miles on it.
These cars get better with the miles and proper exercise. The desire for a “virginal” used 992 is hilarious. Yet, this is the want for some buyers.
Yes, always check the DME reports for manual transmission cars. Give the stink eye to any modern 911 not CPO’d.
A Carrera is not a special thing to be babied. They are made by robots and Porsche makes a ton of them when compared to other six figure cars. Drive them.

It's a machine, and all machines deteriorate with age and use. At the upper spectrum of their performance envelope, they age more rapidly.
You can say an F-18 Hornet is designed for Carrier Landings and of course it is - but they suffer a higher rate of airframe fatigue than a land based counterpart. Same with a 911 used for track duty.
Your money, your choice, I'd not buy a school car with the impression that its just as good as the one driven on weekends to the winery by my local dentist.

If it’s CPO’d, still under factory warranty and in good physical condition, I don’t think I would care much at the right price.
They’re gonna replace all the wearables and everything else is double covered under warranty. Get a PPI, test drive it and if nothing comes up, I’d go for it.
