Bought my 22 Targa 4s in July and it was a PCNA car titled to the service center in PA with 225 miles on it. Rest of new car warantee plus 2 year CPO after. Basically a new car. Didn't save any money but I do have a few years of care free driving with the warantee.

Well, that clearly was not a Barber Motorpark/Porsche Driving Experience car. Great deal with 2 year warranty extension. But, that is not the type of car under discussion here. Tracking a Targa????

I am aware. I was looking for a GTS and found a 23 with 5k on it. I asked if it was a PCNA track test car and the salesguy gave me a knod. Stayed away from it. Bought this instead.

Ny neighbor works for corporate in Atlanta and gets a new car every few thousand miles, then they go to dealers as CPO. He's on a Taycan mission these days 3 in the last year with some of the most amazing colors I've ever seen. I'll ask him if there is a way to tell if corporate demo or PCATL and report back.

Barber Motorpark cars are serviced at the garage at the Motorpark in Leeds, AL. These cars driven very hard continually and have constant changes of brake pads and oil. Doubt all of this is reported or would be seen on a Carfax. They are all PDK’s so no overrevs if you check the DME.

I saw two 991.2 once taking turns on launch controls. At least 3 or 4 per driver, 25 drivers in total. On that particular morning only, each car did about 50 hard launches. I don't trust VW's warranty at all. If they have a chance to deny high cost items, such as PDK, they will.
For those that are sticklers with break in period, in more than one occasion I got delivery miles cars. Once, literally from the truck, not even door numbers by the time o got it. I've seen only GT cars being broken in by the instructors.
Also, they always have manual cars there. Either 911 and/or 718.
As mentioned above, for the right price it would be ok for some, but seldom 911 and right price goes together. Some stealerships have the nerve to announce PSDS cars as executive demo.

I don’t understand why anyone would care. These cars are meant for that duty. When I traded in my 992, the dealer folks commented to me that it sounded like a Porsche experience car. I owned the car since new and the 35k miles that it had were lived very well. 😉 Its new owner has put a gazillion more miles on it.
These cars get better with the miles and proper exercise. The desire for a “virginal” used 992 is hilarious. Yet, this is the want for some buyers.

There is a big difference between "not babying" and extensive track use.

A warranty is not going to save you from hard use. CPO or not. When do you think the strut towers will fail, or wheel bearings, or control arms? Or even that PDK transmission that had 100 Launch Control Starts a day, 7 days a week.
It's not during the warranty periods, its down the road when all that is gone. A warranty is for manufacturers defects, not wear and tear. Remember that.

i suppose a camry could be a tax, sure. but a camry is not a sports car. i don't follow your analogy, sorry.
look, my point is these are sports cars. they are designed to be driven, full stop. if i was fighting for one of these on the used market and had to pick between a new 911 (or any for that matter) that just sat and polished each weekend vs one that was actually used i would pick the one that was used every day of the week.
the absolute worse think you can do for these cars is let them sit.
now, yes, there is a difference in what a car at a driving school car will experience vs porsche car experience vs the press car that auto journalist act like animals in. where you land on the scale of which one you would rather have is pointless argument, its a personal decision. the things that need to be replaced on these cars are really basic ... tires, brakes, oil. rinse and repeat and do the plugs every 2-3 years. in fact, you could make the agreement that "experience" cars where the staff know they need to get the engine and oil up to temp before doing any hard acceleration is a good thing. do you think your 25 year old local porsche sa that use to sell audis a month ago is waiting to hammer on the cars in the showroom? no!
the notion of having some 911 where you were the only person to really push on the gas pedal is just naive.
