Dakar - at dealer eye candy Plus GT3 RS
Dropping off the C2GTS to have that 1,500-1,800 rpm rear rattle looked at and enjoyed this view in the showroom:
Dealer has replaced >6 of these on cars not fitted with the grills.

The Dakar is one of those cars I don't get. Yes, I think its cool and 20 years from now when I see one at a car show with 50 miles on it, I will be impressed.
However, these things will probably get as much off-road use as your average Jeep. So, cool for bragging rights but there are much better offroad vehicles that can do it better and cheaper. Of course, if I had an extensive collection of Porsches, I would probably add one just to make the collection complete.

Love the Dakar, wish I could afford one.
We have 165 acres we could rip around on.
lol

The problem I have with the Dakar is that Porsche tries to make a 1-size fits all solution with it. The crazy front overhangs that the 911 is known for work well on a track, not so well off-road for approach and departure angles even with a lift. That's why purpose built off-road vehicles don't have them. Its kind of like trying to design a tire that works well on and off-road. Form does not follow function, no matter how cool people think it is.

Is there a wheel lock needed to remove all of the studs for the Dakar?

I would venture that most GT cars will hit a track sometime in their life. However, they are good at being track vehicles. The Dakar is not a good offroader. You can cosplay rally stage with the extra fuel on the roof but you are not going to hit the trails with it.
