I doubt mine will see any real off roading. But will it get tossed around frozen lakes in winter...hell yeah. Will I use it all year 'round regardless of weather and enjoy the lower amounts of grip and more-than-ample power...also hell yeah. Was just at the track yesterday. Count of 992 era GT cars there: zero.

Of all the new special edition 911s, the GT cars included, this is the one I would want the most.
It's also a bit myopic and self-serving to say that most GT cars will never see the track. And even if that were true, so what? GT cars are not track cars. Let me repeat that, GT cars are not track cars. Track cars (like the 911 RSR) are track cars.
A GT3/RS is a road car that can be driven on the track. Just like a "regular" 911 Carrera. The difference being that the GT cars are better suited for the track than a regular 911, but it doesn't mean that a 911 Carrera can't be (or shouldn't be) taken to the track.
So with that said, the same **** bomb can be thrown at the 911 owners who "never take their cars to the track and the only track they will see is the apex around the Starbucks drive-thru". SMH.
Long way of saying, just because a particular Porsche model is better suited for certain uses not necessarily mean it has to be used that way.
Who cares if a Dakar owner never take their car rallying or off-roading. Just like we shouldn't care if a 911 owner (of which there are many) never take their 911 to the track.

My Dakar has not been used seriously off road. However it has been driven on a Porsche trackday at Knockhill here in Scotland.
Slower through the corners than the various GT cars also on circuit but the off road tyres provided surprisingly good grip and lots of feedback - it was just fun.
Then, in the middle of the day, we had heavy rain - heavy enough for the session to be red flagged briefly. We then went out on to a very wet track in the Dakar and were quicker than the GT cars with their Cup 2 and Cup 2 R tyres. But to me it is not the actual lap times that are the key but the enjoyment.
Incidentally, I also have a 991.2 GT2 RS and, in my view, the Dakar is more fun on the track than the GT2 RS albeit slower.

Can you tell us a bit more what the Dakar is like on track?

Interestingly, driving the Dakar on track reminds me of driving my other 911 (Carrera 3.2 Clubsport 1988) on the track but with much better balance and easier on the limit handling.

My dealer in Cincinnati (Village) also has a Dakar and a white/green 3RS.
I have the 1500 GTS sound too. let me know what comes out of it. Its driving me insane.

Absolutely stunning! I don't care about track or off-road ... I do 70% of the use on secondary roads, with potholes the size of a frying pan ... and 30% on the freeway. Dakar is perfect for the road with potholes.
and now I will get a coat

I like those Torx wheel bolts.
Standard Dakar fare here in the UK are as in photo.
Mudflaps and full underbody protection recently installed.
Note my OCDness as I always put the centre cap, locking bolt and tyre valve on the same axis....... 😁

Did you measure the weight of the air valve and the locking bolt?
Is it offsetting one another or adding weight on the same side
