Default 992 Carrera S four year recommended service

Hi everyone

My 2020 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is due for four year service mark. Car is low mileage at 7.5k.

Here is what dealer is recommending and quoted just north of $4k…

Do I have to get this done with a dealer or a well qualified independent Porsche mechanic can do this and it won’t void my engine warranty?

I know the filters and coolants needed to be changed and was expecting around $2k - 2.5k was not expecting $4k.

Any advice would be appreciated. Car is not a daily, it’s driven max 3x a week short distance, max weekly driven miles is around 30miles.

A shameless pile-on of unneeded crap - crankcase cleaner, Oil fortifier, fuel system cleaner? Run, don't walk... (but if you do engage, remind them to change the blinker fluid while they are in there).

Should I take anything unnecessary out ? The filters, coolant, break fluid, and spark plug makes sense to replace, the rest not sure like this fuel system cleaner (44k platinum) is …

this is my first 911 so I am new to all this.

Read your maintenance booklet, or https://www.porscheriverside.com/ser...ice-intervals/ (for example). I prefer to spend my money with qualified independents (or do it myself), while others prefer the 'security' (and overpriced) services of the dealer. YMMV

REPLACE
Oil/Filter
Brake Fluid
3 Filters (Engine/Pollen/Particle)
Spark Plugs

INSPECT
The important stuff (preventative from Porsche)

THE REST
Total garbage

I would think even with 5 hours of labor it's <$2k probably between 1-2K.

I would love to hear how they do the "crankcase cleaning service" lol.

I wouldn't worry about the warranty as it only is for 4 years.

Still shocked to see dealers treating wealthy customers like rubes and larding on options’ like it’s 1978. Did they also try to sell you ‘Rusty Jones’ rust protection and an alarm system?

Just got my 4 year service done on my ‘20 C2S with 15k miles, and the dealer just did oil/filter, engine filter, spark plugs, brakes flush. None of that other bs OP’s dealer mentioned.

Because there is no shortage of people who just pay, no questions asked. Lots of wealthy customers out there who know well whatever industry it is that they make their money in but when it comes to cars, they are a complete mystery to them and viewed as sunk costs.

Looks like an official Porsche document...first time I have ever seen Porsche recommending oil changes every 2 years instead of every year.

Why spark plugs on a car that has 7.5K miles only?

Most dealerships give 10% PCA discount on parts and labor. Usually makes it cheaper for me to service at the dealer and get a loaner than use the Independents near me.
