Just had this done the past week at my independent. 992 service internal says plugs need to come out at year 3, so I did the oil/plugs/cabin filter for $1800.

Porsche USA says new plugs at 30,000 miles OR 4 years, whichever comes first. Oil change = easy. Cabin filter = easy. Plugs = about a 2-3 beer job. I haven't done the plugs yet since I'm only at 2 years and 5000 miles but I've reviewed several videos. It's doable if you have reasonable mechanical skills, tools, and a bit of time. I'm retired and mechanically inclined - I look forward to the job in 2 years.

Geez! I can’t remember how much the oil change by itself was but my entire 2 yr service with PCA discount was $800 which included the oil change, brake fluid flush, and an air filter. I service at Suncoast.

Update: I got my 992 serviced this past week at my local dealer and with the fuel system cleaner (44K) removed, decided to do spark plug replacement next year as the car is low mileage and fourth year of ownership is next year.

Total came out approximately just a tad over $1k with PCA discount, happy with the price and the quality of work. Thanks everyone for their input and advice, helped a lot reasoning and negotiating with the dealer, they were flexible and accommodating with my requests.

Regards to integrity, I didn't take it personally, they're just doing their job and going by vehicle service software system recommendation without much critical thinking, at the end of the day it's up to you as a consumer to do your due diligence. Hope this post helps others!

Well that’s one viewpoint. Here’s mine: they are shamelessly larding on valueless extras positively absolutely not specified by Porsche, and treating you like a rube in the process.

I would *never* spend a dime with cynical thieves like these. Go find an independent advisor who’s recommendations are guided by values other than the size of the next boat he wants to purchase…
