what is that gorgeous piece of art there? Please share some details…
Ideally we see something like a DSP amp pre-loaded with a tune, a mount and plug and play harness. Pull passenger seat and carpet, follow instructions to attach harness, run power, re-assemble.
For most yes but if Sound Quality is your thing you wouldn't be happy with the Burmester or any other stock system. Going from stock to quality aftermarket with Amps/Subs/ & most importantly DSP is literally like going from a Yugo to a 911......or if you've never driven a Yugo insert the biggest POS you've ever driven.

That’s pretty much how you install it except you don’t have to run any power to it because the stock harness already includes power.

Guess that depends on how much you want to spend. Sure, someone can build a better sounding system than the Burmester. But, doubtful for under 5K. I am extremely happy with my 4K Yugo (and if I remember correctly, that was about what one cost new)

Exactly what we have here. A multi-channel DSP Amplifier. Tuned perfectly for the 992 acoustics and the base audio signals.
We have a successful Stage Three system up and running in our development 992 right now. All input correction and output equalization handled inside this one chassis — and it looks pretty good, too. (sounds even better)
I'll have an announcement in the next week with pricing and pre-order info. Looking at Nov/Dec ETA.

Remember, there's no amplifier in this config, so we do have to run power. Luckily, we've figured out a way to get that from the fuse panel in the passenger footwell — no need to run to the battery. This is actually a fairly simple install, just requires a bit of dexterity and patience working in the footwells on this car.
I'm working on an install guide video. That should get compiled and published in the next week or two.
I probably won’t be able to afford it but it’s nice seeing aftermarket support. I was hoping a cheap pioneer dsp plug and play setup would be a option.
I can see how my verbiage was misleading — I was referring to the "OEM config" not having an amplifier.
We're adding a DSP Amplifier to the Sound Package Plus cars.
Aha. I see. Thanks. Looking forward to more details as they come together! Leaving in a few days to collect my T in Zuffenhausen so it should make it stateside within weeks of the package's availability :-)
I had a chance to look at the speakers when I had the door panels off a couple nights ago and while the plastic housing feel pretty sturdy, the paper cones look so cheap
I have been not so patiently waiting for this thread since I bought my CPO 992. Aside from my rubber dash, my only other complaint has been my base stereo!
