I just took delivery of my base C2 Aventurine Green a couple of weeks ago. More than enough power for me. Aventurine Green is a fantastic color more under the radar then Bahama Yellow. As someone mentioned PTS might be sold out for 2024 and I also heard Aventurine is going to PTS in a few months. Porcshe colors are all personal taste, go with the one that puts the bigger smile on your face. If you can lock in a T, I'd go for it. Waiting for a S might be a longer wait than you think. When I dove a S at my dealership, the extra horse power wasn't that noticeable to me.
I have had both and would indicate that the T is my favorite so far. Some observations: The S clearly has more Torque and HP, while the T is a little lighter on its feet, but has more than enough power for the street. The different character of the T is more than the sum of its parts. The sound the T makes is significantly different (interior) as well. Cannot go wrong with either. I loved the Aventurine but also like the GT Silver on my current T.
Interesting about the PTS. My dealer had not mentioned any issue other than a slightly longer lead time. I’ll have to chat with them tomorrow. Thanks for all the input everyone!
If the order is not submitted and taken by Porsche, dealer would not know if the PTS is approved or not. What they are telling you is pure assumption. Looks like the window of ordering a PTS 992.1 has closed.
You wont miss the extra power. I have a GTS and I can't find anywhere to even use the power. If I lightly touch the throttle on the interstate I am doing 20 over in about .5 seconds.
I am no expert but I think for an S which seem almost impossible to come by and if you do get one it will be a 992/2 model.
So I would stick with the T which will cease once the 992/1 production stops. IMO of course.
I agree. OP wants a 'special car' based on the color. The T is a special car regardless of color.
What's even more confusing is that my brand new T was ordered in Viper Green which was listed as a special color for $3270. Now Viper Green is listed as PTS for new orders and costs $13150. So same car but they raised base price by 10,000 and color by 10,000. Glad I got my in August.

I'll assume you meant 5 seconds instead of 0.5 seconds since it would take well over 1000HP to accelerate the 911 20mph at highway speeds in 0.5 seconds. But if I'm wrong and your car is pushing that mush power with light throttle, then kudos to you.
I keep seeing people say "can't use the power".
All I read is "I don't know how power works."
The higher trims make more power throughout the rev range. You can use more at virtually anywhere along the revs.
And regarding peak HP, you can use peak HP in just first gear, well under highway speeds.
Unless you're traction limited, you can use more power.

90% of people notice a difference in torque far more than power, especially on the road and in a 992.
