People these days don’t pay attention, don’t care, don’t stop, and make bold and risky maneuvers right in front of all of us. When I try and honk the weak sound of the Porshe’s horn greets me and seems to do little to deter people cutting in front of you or pulling out right in front of you.

I have always disliked the weak sound the Porsches make when you honk your horn. I would like to replace or fit a horn in that is loud enough.

The stock horn rarely seems to make a difference when honking as most people can’t even hear it on the Highway or even on residential roads with there music blasting and staring at their phone.

So, I would like to ask you guys if there is a way to fit in a train/air horn in the the front truck, or replace the old stock horn with louder deeper horns. I would really like to put a horn blasters equivalent in the front but I am worried about mounting it, it being loud enough, or rattling stuff up front.

I have a 992 911 T and just would like to further my chances of being seen or heard in case a lifted truck, semi, or inattentive driver drifts, cuts, pulls out, in front of me. Attached here is my 911.

For a very simple reason: if you have time to use a horn to avert an accident, you have that same amount of time to use some of the best brakes on a car to do the same.

A horn should be absolutely rarely used; a train horn is a great way to get nice cases of road rage directed your way.

If a then slow down, brake, or stop. They are already showing themselves to be unsafe drivers, the last thing you want is closer proximity to them.

My Kahlenberg Chimetone D-1 air horns a amazingly loud w/ a superb sound. It is not possible to safely sound these while anyone is on the bow in front of the horns.

Per the COLREGS these are required for usage after the finale on Independence Day. I wait for all other boats to sound their horns, then I let mine rip, reverberating off the coastline or off the lakeshore.

It is difficult to determine any instances where these would be useful on a roadway, except under some parade / demonstration purposes.

My Kahlenberg 117 whistle has a super sweet 360° sound. It is also terrific for echo location in pea soup fog, in case the radar ever fails.

Used a set of these on a mid-70's V12 Jag sedan when the oems died early. They WILL get your attention.

I had to replace the horn on my 997. Not sure if our 992s are the same set up, but in my 997 I had to remove the entire front bumper. Total PITA. Unless your horn is broken I wouldn’t bother.

Harbor Freight has a high pitched air horn, folds used to but them in MINs and classic Minis and my wife’s 71 MGB has one. It’s high pitched and different sounding enough that it catches folks attention.

Those are beautiful! Yes unfortunately those would be a little too loud it seems, I belive I will try and upgrade the stock horn to something a little louder but not mess with the air horn.
