Default GT Steering Wheel Vs Standard

I just replaced the standard wheel than came on my 2021 CPO C2 with the optional GT wheel. I like the GT wheel's thicker feel, but it does further obstruct the instrument cluster, which I think I will get used to. My like -new standard wheel (with heating element) is now sitting in a box in my garage. If anyone has interest in it, PM me or check the classifieds, where I just posted it

Mike

I'm considering the same swap, was it worth the $900? Did you diy or pay a dealer to do it?
When I spec'd my early car there was alot of misinformation that the GT wheel was the "same" as the standard wheel except for the grips that further blocked the dash view.
Yes in diameter, but the hard, skinny standard wheel kind of bugs me!

@griss Let me get this straight. The dealer had to move all the controls over to the GT steering wheel from your oem one and they only charged you $179 to do it? Which dealership? And how many days did it take them? Thanks!

Sloane Porsche of Warrington, PA. It took them less than 1 hour. It is a fairly simple install. I would have done it myself except I was fearful of fooling around with the airbag

Did they have to swap the controls from your oem wheel onto the GT steering wheel? Thanks.

If I know my dealer, that price would have a zero added on to it. Plus shop supplies

If all of the parts of the standard wheel get swapped to the new wheel, why do they specify manual vs auto, sport chrono or not when you order?

@griss It would be really helpful to me if you can clarify something for me.
What did you get when you ordered 992-044-400? A or B? Thanks.

Hallelujah. Thank you! Yes. That would be a 15 minute job. The picture in your FS ad threw me off.
