Sorry, it is not practical for anything other than city driving. The Tesla sucked when we had to go Jacksonville from Tampa. Nothing like spending 30 minutes in Ocala at a supercharger for a 200 mile drive. The PHEV is much better in this regard since we can fill up on long trips and keep mostly electric around town. I haven't crunched the numbers but I doubt I am saving much money in gas vs. electric.
Let's also not discount the rising cost of electric.... the cost savings from electric is quickly diminishing. I use 1/2 the electric I did last year but my bill is nearly the same.
Anyways my point is, we have had them all, and we would just prefer a regular gas sucking v8.

For an EV, its not just the raw range that determines the usability - its combined with the available charging network for the car on the road. You don't consider that with a gas car because gas stations are everywhere. For an EV, more people consider the range to be the "radius from my house", which is not true with a gas car.

And if cost savings were my goal, I failed miserably when I spent $130k on the car in the first place….

I don’t have EV stations to allow me to make a trip to visit my parents, especially in winter when real world range plummets from the manufacturer’s claims. When/if EV stations are as common as gas stations I’ll consider them practical. We need a lot of infrastructure built and that’s not happening in rural areas.

I would have to baby the Model 3 to get 120 miles round trip from home... and I live in a hot climate. Live in Canada... forget about it.

I prefer my 911 personally, but I’m not going to call the Taycan “not practical”.

whatever. I know the longest trip we do with the Taycan is 244 miles round trip and it takes 84% SoC. Car is very practical. It’s my wife’s DD and she loves not having to go to gas stations, the quiet, and the instant torque. And less regular maintenance. No downsides for her.

Typical Porsche underestimating numbers.. I believe they advertise 245mi range.

It MUST be a special kind of joy to plug in overnight and see zero increase in the state of charge in very cold or very hot ambient temperatures...

A single car household probably should not own a 911, either.
