911/992 Metal particles in engine
#16
i think there was another 992 that had a few thousand miles and the poor dudes car blew up on his way home from delivery. the thread is somewhere in this box. makes me worry. i daily drive mine so i am slowly seeing and hearing things change. but mine had 90% of its original warranty plus its CPO so i am covered for 6 years.
but it makes me wonder.
what we do ...

Those you who have heard of catastrophic engine failure requiring a new engine, what have you heard on the warranty to follow? Did those owners recieve a full 2yr factory warranty or just a discretional 1year warranty? Any pointers?

Warranty doesn't toll, so you aren't entitled to a warranty beyond the expiration date of your existing 2 year warranty, They are gong beyond what is required. On the bright side, the chance that you'd have a second engine failure is astronomical. How long are they telling you it will take to receive the car back?

When my engine needed a replacement, Porsche offered me two scenarios. 1. Install a new motor and then a CPO 2 yr warranty after original warranty expired. 2. Buy back vehicle and order a new one. I chose #2.
