New 2024 C2, had it 4 days, 100 miles, surround view failed as described. Restarted and ok, but not comforting based on the info in this thread.

OP reporting in....

no it was never fixed. After the better part of a year, with the car in and out of the dealership several times, they proposed replacing the wiring harness to the rear of the car, at which pointed I said enough and accepted a buy-back. It was a sad ending to what was a lifelong dream of ordering and owning my own built 911. I've been out of Porsche ownership since then after many years of having a variety of Porsches. Hope it works out better for you guys, my only piece of advice is skip the piecemeal camera replacement "fixes" and tell them to replace the wiring harness to the rear camera, because that's the issue, or decide like I did that you don't want your car interior disassembled and sell it. I only got to put 2k miles on the car as it was in the shop most of the time. On the positive side I drove just about every Porsche out there as a loaner car at various times, and the local dealership was very supportive.

As a side note I replaced it with the new Toyota GR86 as my weekend canyons car and despite a vast difference in price and power I really enjoy it, great purists sports car for relative peanuts. And dead reliable.

While not diminishing your experience in any way, this situation is exceedingly rare and not representative of a normal Porsche ownership experience, so please don't indict the entire brand. Yes, you were 'unlucky', but as sports cars Porsches are as reliable as they come. Unfortunately accidents happen even to the best of us, so glad you were able to get it resolved.

ps Despite this situation, Porsche seems to hold up pretty well in initial delivery quality according to JD Powers

It was bad luck on my part and I would say Porsche reliability as an owner of several over many years is probably average.

Quote: The surround view cameras in my 3 week old 2023 992 C2 intermittently don't work, including the rear view camera. Seems to happen about 10% of the time at start-up and they remain disabled until the vehicle has been parked for a few hours. I've done some searching and it seems others have had this in Macans and Cayennes, and concerningly there was no fix despite some having multiple parts swapped out. I don't see much about it in the 992. Since it's all the cameras at once, it's presumably not a single bad camera, maybe a control module somewhere in the system.

Anyone have this issue? I know I can just take it to the dealer but thought I would seek the experience of rennlisters first.

my 2024 Cayenne is experiencing the same issue. has your problem been resolved? The dealership says that they have to get Porsche germany approval before they can fix it. Has anyone ever been told that on a brand-new car?

This problem is prevalent across VW Group. Check out the Audi and other forums. It's an Easter Egg hunt with no end in sight.

There's a TSB on this issue: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...07112-0001.pdf

So has anyone had this issue resolved? My new to me 2023 Cayenne Turbo with surround view has the same issue: all cameras aren’t working.

2022 911 turbo s, same issue, I put close to 30,000 miles and seems to get worse over time. Initially only happened 10% of the time, now it’s happening more often than not

I had this problem on my '23 Cayenne, reported it to my Service Advisor a month ago at my 30K service, and they replaced all the cameras. Haven't seen it since.
