They need more production capacity for the 911. At this point, the long lead times are costing them sales. Yes I know they sell every one they can make, but the point is that they are losing many customers who can't/won't deal with the wait times, and customers who give up and buy another brand car is a net lost sale that Porsche is never getting back.

ADM lowering but orders still going strong. Any time I am at the store there is a brand new walk-in customer looking at a Porsche product. A lot of times it is a taycan.

There is still the looming default. If I believe even half of the doom and gloom predictions, people will take some major hits to their 401k and stock portfolios.

If all that comes to pass, I suspect people will tighten their spending, not to mention that people who will lose their jobs, will stop buying anything but the essentials.

We’ll see? Hope it doesn’t happen, but we live in crazy times.

As someone who is in Foodservice, it’s definitely tightening. People still eat out, but splurging on lobster tails has come to a halt.

That’s all my 8yo wants. Lobster. Every time we go out. Without fail.

“Look at the menu; what do want?”

”I want the lobster tails.”

”Buddy, this is White Castle. You’re gonna need a plan B.”

I do volunteer work for Meal on Wheels. Now that I am retired, i deliver low cost meals to elderly or handicapped people. Many of my clients rely on what they get from SS to live off of. Anybody ever want to know how the other half live…talk with an older/disabled person living by themselves, with nobody to help them,.

They are extremely worried about what’s going on in Washington. For them, any disruption is a major thing.

I see it as living in unstable times and that breeds opportunity. I don't listen to "experts" as much as I speak to a variety of stakeholders. It's a different market than we had even just at the beginning of the year. We'll see what happens.

Yes, we’ll see what happens. Hoping for the best, but won’t be surprised if the worst happens….because we live in f*cked up times.

What I find the saddest part of this whole thing is…people with means will be OK, or quickly bounce back. But those with no safety net will be the ones hurt the hardest …all to make some political point. How can the supposed “greatest country on earth” be so callous towards those who are basically forgotten? Shameful.

Its very sad. Kudo's to you for the meals on wheels contribution, I imagine the people who you see are very grateful.

That doesn’t make sense. You say they sell evey one they make but then say they lose net sales due to people not willing to wait. How does that compute? There is the law of diminishing returns and Porsche has been very effective with the 911 line staying at the apex of that for some time as the most profitable car for the brand.

Thx, but it really only consumes a few hours of my time each week, so in the grand scheme of things, it’s not much and I should do more.

What I have come to realize (same was true with my dad who died alone in his house in San Diego)….. the biggest issue for many of these folks is loneliness. Most have no family, or a family that only visits a couple of times a year from out of state. Outside of that, their daily companion is the TV. Pretty sad. The best thing I can do for them is take the time to sit down and just talk with them to see how they are doing, and offer to do any minor chores. Something as simple as changing a light bulb is something many can’t do on their own, so they really appreciate doing anything for them. .

Well, no political system is perfect but having only two very polarizing parties doesn't help get things done, But this is very OT so let's get back on topic.
