Possble to changed to lightweight buckets from sport seats

The only coding is for the PODs controller - if you swap the controller between seats when you swap them out, you won't have to code. If you have a unique controller on each seat, you will need to do a quick "learn" to discover the SN. If you have PIWIS, it's a 3 min. process - if you don't have PIWIS, just swap the controller between seats - probably take less than a minute to swap it. .

Just to be clear, you would only need to swap the controller box, NOT the PODs sensor - you would install the sensor in both seats, and just swap the controller between seats to avoid programming.

the VW controller is the one in all 992s - yes, you can use the one on your current 992 seat, and just swap it to whatever seat you install w/ no programming.

Great - the last few posts are for the connectors to wire them in. I'm still working on the best alternative for sensor pads as well. Once I figure it all out, I might put together a mini-kit with wiring harness pre-pinned to plug into seat plug - should be easy to do and will work with either OEM seats or aftermarket. . .
Did you come to a conclusion if the VW sensor pad was able to work? I know the module was tested and verified with the Porsche sensor pad, just did not see if you managed to get the cheaper VW part to work as well. You mentioned in another post a connector and terminals but it was not fully clear to me what 2 components you were trying to connect, so forgive me for that. Keep up the good work!

I have yet to receive the VW PODs sensor - it's still backordered. As soon as I receive it I'll test, program and post results. I'm pretty certain it will work. I posted pinouts for the entire seat connector just in case others need the info. I'm also going to update all the new info from my research on the topic to this thread -https://rennlist.com/forums/992-gt3-and-gt2rs-forum/1391643-the-definitive-992-seat-swap-thread.html.
I'm now messing around with the different seat controllers - trying to use a set of Panamera seat bases to "electrify" a set of LWCBs - IE add one-button front/back tilt and forward/aft motion.

They work - that's confirmed! Just trying to figure out the best / most economic system to incorporate features such as heat, air lumbar support, etc into the LWCBs. These niceties weigh less than a lb. - the seat bases will add about 5 lbs / seat for the 2 extra electric motors, so all in about a 6 lb weight penalty per seat, but this will give you a fully electric LWCB w/ heat, electric lumbar, and full forward / rear tilt, with is the real reason I'm doing this.

Well, that's relative. . . they were bare shells for a relatively good price, but after factoring in all the factory foam, the airbags, new upholstery, still expensive. But hopefully a cool, fun project in the end. We shall see if they every show up!

Thanks to the effort of a few of you guys we 992 guys are finally getting into some DIY mods like the 991. Great job!👏

You guys rock! I just got a GT3T and while the LWCB are cool, light and great for driving hard, they're a total pain to get in and out and for general cruising. I'm strongly looking into getting sports or 18-way seats to swap in when planning long tours.
Watching with interest how this all pans out.
