Default Porsche Wheel and Tire Insurance

So finalizing numbers for delivery and I'm being pressured into the wheel and tire package. Its $4600. It does cover 7 years of unlimited warranty and I was told a single centerlock wheel is going to set me back $4000. Thoughts? Was planning on getting it yesterday but am very much on the fence today.
I have never bent a rim and in all my cars over the years, have only had to replace 4 tires due to hazard damage.

The reason they offer it is because they make money on it, and the reason they make money on it is because they pay out less than they take in. In other words, the odds are in your favor to save money if you do not buy it.

If you must, then negotiate the price.

I usually do not take any of these “insurances” exactly for the point made above: if they sell it to you is because they make money off it.

However, I decided differently on the wheel/tire protection for my turbo. An important point that got me to decide that way is that the wheel/tire protection cost is the same for all 992 models. Since the turbo ED CL forged wheels are the most expensive wheels available on the 992, I figured the actuarial probabilities are likely on my side. Further, I drive my car year round and the OE winter CL I use are also covered by the protection plan adds to the incentive.

this is my take on all these warranties and wheel tire etc. they wouldn’t want you to buy it if they were loosing money. I always pass on all of it

Now we have insurance for wheels and tires? What's next? Most people's worse case is that you curb a wheel that costs $300 to fix.

Buying tire and wheel insurance for $4,600 is insane.

The cost difference of wheel doesn’t on its own mean it’s “on your side”. Or even likely on your side. It’s just better relative to the other wheels.

There's probably a price at which I'd go ahead and pick it up but certainly not at $4,600

nal13 Contact AAA North East and ask for a price. They quotes me $1,164 for 8 years for wheel/tire/keys for my 2021 C2S. This is below the dealer cost ($1,260) at most dealers FYI.

$4,600 is too much. Eight years is too long. Are you gonna have the car that long? Lets say you keep it four years. How many nails, punctures, or other tire hazards can you get in four years. Lets say it's the rear wheels at $600 a pop. Will this happen eight times? Also, I think every place I've ever bought tires came with at least two year hazard warranty.

IDK, maybe if you're curbing wheels every other week it'd be worth it.

I contacted AAA Mid Atlantic. Currently not available.

I paid $1800.00 for 5 years including the key replacement on my wife's 23 Macan GTS. I felt it was worth it
