I'm getting larger tires for my 992 Targa 4 GTS (255/315 instead of 245/305) at the same time I'm having KW HAS springs put on.
I have center lock wheels and I can't use spacers so I figured i could at least get an extra 5mm with little effort with the larger tires.
The shop who's doing the work (BR Racing in Los Gatos) recommend the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport over the Michelin Pilot Sport 2. He said they are just as good but last a bit longer.
I wanted Michelin but opted for the Goodyear because from the pictures it looks like they have a more tread than the Michelin and since I'm not getting these for track and wanted something that could also handle the rain thought the Goodyear were a better choice.
But from the looks of it there are no actual "all weather" tires in the larger Turbo/GT3 sizes like the Pilot Sport for the S/GTS 992s.
Are Pilot Sport Cup 2 ok for wet weather?

I only see MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2 and MICHELIN PILOT SPORT CUP 2 R TRACK CONNECT.
What tires come from the factory on 992s like the GT3 or Turbo S?

They’re available in the size you’re looking for, but not NA0 spec.

I fitted 991.2 GT3RS PSC2 tires on my turbo as dual use street and track tires. I have zero issue using them as a daily tire, their lack of wet performance is vastly overblown on internet forums. I’ve also dailyied my previous M4cs on PSC2 tires for 3-years without issue.

Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport R is equivalent to the Michelin Cup 2 these tires give up some wet and cold weather performance for improved dry grip on track. They are both OEM tires on the 992 GT3. I prefer the SuperSport R as grip doesn’t drop off as much as the Cup2 once the tires heat up.

The 992 turbo series are fitted with either Pirelli PZ4 or Goodyear F1 SuperSport tires. Look for those if you want Porsche N spec. The Porsche spec PSC2 and PSC2R tires in those sizes are for the 992 GT3.

I think the bigger issue is the cold. When the tires are cold the traction is nonexistent. If you live in a cold climate there is a risk of tire damage running them in below freezing temps.

I daily my M2C with Cup2s. It's fine. There are better tires for the rain, but it's not like the Cup2s are death traps

These tires should not be allowed to freeze, especially driving on them “frozen”, it will crack the tread compound.

It’s just that the F1-SS-R has a very low 80 treadwear, on par with aggressive track tires, which is lower than the 140 of the PSC2R and substantially lower than the the 180/240 of the PSC2.
Disclaimer: I do understand that tread wear is not an absolute indicator of tire performance .
