Default First Roadtrip

Me and Not Sally (that is how I named my 911 as one day I hope to get Sally too) took our first roadtrip from Seattle over to the East and drove through the Canyon road (side road from Ellensburg to Yakima). She did amazing. Just as we entered the canyon she passed 1000mi of breaking in. Finally she could go from roaring to screaming. And she was screaming past 7000rpm. What a joy what a ride.

She is such a beauty and so fun to drive. After getting out of canyon (without any speeding ticket) we both had to stop and take some break for a snack. The rest of the drive we were just giggling.

Manual transmission is so good. Not sure why there is 7th gear as I never had to go past 6th.

How long was your road trip?
Yes, 6 & 7 are basically EPA gears for economy. 😜

Left Saturday morning and it is about 3h drive to Richland. A stop at Treveri Cellars in Yakima for lunch is a must. Spent the night there and drove back on Sunday (again through canyon).

She did meet a boy there and was hard to get her away from him. He was 930 turbo. I completely understood her.

Going there was good, coming back was rain. But that is why we Seattle people escape over to the East to check if sun still exists. 😀

My heart sank when I saw the last picture. It looked like there is a dent over the wheel. I think it’s the lighting/shadow? Awesome pics btw.

edit: side mirror reflection

On the highway cruising over 90 7th is useful. Otherwise RPM is over 3500.

I just did the same thing this weekend but from PDX to Bend. Seems like it's always sunny east of the Cascades.

Now if we can get them to stop using red lava rock on the road in the winters...cleanup was brutal!

Nice!! What route did you take? Over Mt Hood? Man I always think that i would not go over there in my porsche until it is summer and road looks nicer. Love Bend, OR, one of the nicest cities on the West coast.

Yes, I painted the wheels satin black (Factory Wheel Outlet in Clackamas, OR) Lifetime warranty for chipping, pro guys!

I wanted the RS Spyder wheels but my new 992 came with the "Turbo" with machined front surfaces. I started playing with them in Photoshop and really liked them in black so had them done.

It's nice having something a bit different than the next P, but I guess most Targa drivers are like that.

Hwy 213 through the countryside to hwy 22 to 20. Top off all the way as it was sunny and only 43 deg at the summit. The road home was snowing up to the santiam summit then rain all the way home...then 2 hours of clean up.

I'll wait until I have a dry option next time over the Cascades. I just hit the "run in" mileage on this trip and ready to really enjoy this thing!
