I wonder how long it will be before Porsche adopts the BMW (and other manufacturer) model to charge buyers a monthly/annual service fee for various options on the car? As soon as a car company can activate, or de-activate features, over the air….better bend over and get ready to pay.

Based on the cost of the paint for many of the Porsche metallics when a repair is required, and several colors are nearly impossible to match the texture of the flakes in the paint,
I'm guessing its partially to make it so minor crash damage doesn't turn in to a 15000 dollar repair. The 2003 Arctic silver is the poster child for paint that is hard to match the metallic in.
I would also bet its the actual metal flake component thats killing delivery of some colors, my daughter was grumbling about her favorite nail polish going away for the lack of metal flake..

Wow I'm so happy that I just recently bought Python Green and pre-price increase. Hooray.

As an aging surfer, I worry more about sharks. Never should have seen Jaws when i was a kid. 😱
Sorry for the diversion…

I can’t comment about other colors, but this much I know (besides what my SA said)…..I have received - literally - 100’s of complements over the past 2 years of ownership…and the very first thing out of their mouth is, “wow, what a beautiful color…what color is that?”) No chit, the very first comment. Then I say, hey, you wanna see the rest of the car?
I get lots of compliments on the combination too, mostly from Porsche or dealer employees.

Every new MY the Porsche Marketing/PR folks choose an exterior/interior color that they think will represent the car best as well as look good in stories written by the media. That honor is also usually the kiss of death for the color, as it is usually discontinued in the next year as a standard or upscale color to add to the uniqueness and as an added value for the vehicle. For MY 2022, The the color group chosen to represent the 911 was Aventurine Green Metallic exterior, Truffle Brown with deviated stitching interior and if the car was a Cabriolet or a Targa, a brown roof.
I get lots of compliments on the combination too, mostly from Porsche or dealer employees.

No idea, but do not remember any, and definitely not many, car media stories featuring AG in their review of the 992. .
AG has been discontinued for reasons that only Porsche knows. I’m not going to speculate. All I know is that 100’s of people…from neighbors, to people at gas stations, to people at PCA events, to family and friends, etc…have commented to me how gorgeous the color is. As far as what Porsche employees might say…umm, I expect them to say the same things to all owners, regardless of the color. That’s part of their job.

I'm seeing Aventurine Green under PTS now (992 configurator), so maybe it can still be had... for $13.1k vs $840...
