Default PPF with Ceramic Coating - all in one

Any one with knowledge or experience with PPF film with ceramic coating already on it? Pros / cons vs traditional CC after PPF?

That’s what I used for my 992 and S5. It looks great and is slick as hell.
You can still add a ceramic coating to it afterwards which I did including the glass.

I have Valor PPF (which is billed as all in one ceramic/wrap) on the front clip. The rest of the car is ceramic coated. From a hydrophobic perspective the Valor is at least as slick. I like it, I’d do it again. Next time I might even wrap the whole thing in it. 6 months, 6,000 miles and it’s holding up great so far. Like any PPF as mentioned ad nauseum in numerous threads installer quality is key.

Thanks for that feedback. Agree on installer - this is newer so I am being sold that I am going to get the "best" installer b/c they want to use this as an example car. We will see. Seems like the cost is not that much more for the ceramic film so I may just give it a shot.

If they're going to use your car as a "reference" car they should give you a discount....

What film are they using? Both Xpel and Llumar make films with ceramic type coating. I would avoid the place if they are using some off brand film.

Check out STEK film (not to be confused with Suntek).

IMO, they are now the leader in PPF and come with ceramic coating top layer.

I am a bit skeptical with this 2 in 1 method. When PPF is applied, I think the installer will need to stretch the film here and there. Does ceramic coating also stretch? If so, wouldn't the coating layer thickness be thinner?

No idea, all I know is it seems to work. Installer did say that it will eventually wear off though

Because ceramic coatings can be layered for a more durable coating overall and it’s fun to get intimate with my 992 while applying it myself.
It’s not difficult to apply a quality over the counter ceramic coating like some will have you believe and they do wear out just like wax did.
