The Motor is OUT!

I recall the original thread - did they give you the option of an entirely new car, rather than this engine swap? Are they giving you anything, like an extended warranty?

Curious on the backstory. Where's the original thread?

Hi EZ E; Sorry you had to go through this, and wishing you the best for a fast and complete resolution!
I believe this is the OP’s original thread:

I was driving home with the cruse control on and the engine failed!! Internal failure no oil pressure change. The data pulled from the computer shows nothing abnormal or any limited reached. Actually it shows everything normal. When the oil filter was pulled it's full of :"GOLD"! See other photos. Master Tech says manufacturing defect. The dealerships have been great and very kind. PCNA has went into witness relocation and actually has forced me into a position I never expected from PCNA. Don't want to say too much for obvious reasons. How do you defend this car? 33 days out of service and another 6 if the parts comes in Tuesday. That's if we don't need a PDK and I don't think we do. There is a remedy for this issue and it's not a t-shirt. LOL

Here are the valves. They had to stop not all the parts made it in today. I asked for the photos but they removed them clearly!!!

Wow. What a mess. Sorry to hear. What does an oil filter full of “GOLD” mean / indicate? Debris from a blown engine?

I have a great relationship with the dealership and they made VERY kind offer and later I'll tell you about those. Thanks to my guys at Lincolnwood Porsche. The guys at Ft Wayne are super good!! They all know my ask and completely agree it's in line and win/win for all parties. Porsche thumbs downed it and super crappy to deal with. BOHICA for Porsche is all I'm going to say now!! That's GOLD baby!! Those that don't know that's my oil filter housing when the filter was pull. The filter is full of the same!! That's really bad FYI.

^ Porsche Lincolnwood? That’s where I bought my 992 back in 2020
Generally a good dealership, in my opinion. I haven’t had a bad experience with them, albeit it’s been limited

I've purchased a few 911's from Lober/Lincolnwood. They get very good allocations and I recommend Chris over there. Thumbs up!!

Actually a Long Block has most everything attached to it, there is very little to move over from the old engine. Short Blocks require the move-over, but most manufactures no longer offer them as they did in the past as machining tolerances have become incredibly tight for both power and emissions, they do not want a second failure so they ship long blocks with everything attached and as you saw in the letter, test ran the engine to be sure.
You can't see the spark plugs as they are on the bottom of the engine, behind the manifolds in the photos shown.
I had to replace an engine in a 11,000 mile 1996 993 C4S in 2002,(out-of-pocket) and bought a new long block from the factory. I did not want to put a 60,000 mile junkyard engine in a chassis with just 11K miles on it. It took two months to build it in Germany as they had switched the factory over to 996 water-cooled builds. It arrived, went in without a hitch and came with a 2 year, unlimited miles warranty. Ran perfectly afterwards up to the day I sold the car (big mistake, should have kept that one)
