Take it from an Airbus Captain I completely understand how machines work and fail, plus I'm smart enough not to abuse machines. Thanks for pointing out it's a machine and has a power plant installed and they can fail. I didn't know that information. Wish someone would have told me before I dropped $180k. The issue is I never made it home on day one. Porsche has zero concern and made no effort to make sure I have a replacement engine. No biggie! The first engine ordered still hasn't shown up! No biggie! Dropping an engine in doesn't make us "square" and the engine isn't back in and we're at almost 40 days out of service after $180K payment. You clearly have missed the point of the post because you've given us all the super cool racing back ground and absolutely no understand of lemon law and product liability for a new car not a "race car". I was surprised when Porsche asked if I was out on a track or had tracked the car. Claim wouldn't have been covered is what Porsche told me. Not so sure you want to tell Porsche you've been out on a track with your 911 and make a warranty claim. After talking to Porsche all I heard is how people call screaming and crying when they call Porsche I'd bet this guy is one of them.
What is Ohio lemon law? Not certain, but I thought that after 30 days out of service it qualified there?
Going through the lemon process right now on my wife's brand new Mercedes EQS here in California and they have been great so far. I also had a similar issue with an X5 back in 2013 where it blew a piston through the bottom of the motor with 4K miles on the clock. Good luck with Porsche, surprised they aren't more engaged.
my wife had an 2020 Alfa that was literally run into twice, once by an exhausted uber or food driver while it was sitting on side of the street and a second time by someone who ran into her while the driver was texting. first repair was about $2K to fix, second was over $5K. when we went to go trade it in for her Cayenne neither of them showed up on the carfax! both repairs were completed by the Ferrari dealership (its an Alfa / Maserati / Ferrari dealer). we were both amazed but what do you do?
lots of cars driving around that have been damaged and the owners (new) have no idea.
Another reason to call out those dealers who do go above and beyond as well as the crap ones who do as little as possible for as long as possible for as much as possible.
Do not grant 10s and 9s to dealers who treat you like crap in the hopes of having a relationship. You don't have one, either with them or PCNA. The reality is that the ethos of VW to sell at any cost and beat Toyota has permeated a company that lauded "excellence is expected" as its credo. It hasn't for a long time. Caveat emptor.

I second that. I prefer cancelling SiriusXM or do a colonoscopy prep than talking to a Porsche representative. not the first people you get at the 1-800, they are misleadingly nice, it's the second layer and on that you feel the special VW treatment. Maybe that's unfair, I think VW is better to their direct customers. What Porsche HAD on their side were properly engineered cars that did not broke often so one would not need the sleazy dealers and now awful customer service.

The catalytic reactors alone are $8,000 the pair. Add in the turbos, the ECM, manifolds, etc, and it's easily $30k.
I didn't mean that they were going to toss the old engine/parts in the trash - they would harvest the working parts from it back in a factory staging area. What I was saying is, rather than have all that work done at the dealer to tear down and rebuild onto the replacement motor, I was surprised they don't just send a near fully built engine to make the replacement process faster and less subject to mistakes at the dealership.

What great news! so glad you have it finally to enjoy. I am sure it felt like a horribly long process, but I am pretty impressed with the dealers ability to turn that around for you!
Great news! Finally you can enjoy it, I especially like that you're doing 91 in 8th in Normal mode - you might have to do that for a little while longer before 'giving it the beans'!

That may be true, but what do you think the #1 goal is of a privately held company if not enriching the elite owners?
