Default Native Spotify vs. Car Play Spotify (pics)

Native Spotify

Apple Spotify

I have a new 23 C2S and have Native Spotify with the revised PCM 6. I compared Spotify in Apple CarPlay to Native to illustrate the difference if anyone is interested. A very nice addition to the revised PCM 6 with better integration in the car and the ability to scroll quickly through songs. Worth connecting.

Thanks for this! Does the native Spotify allow you to download all your tracks for offline playing?

Never tried but it appears you can do whatever you do in CarPlay.

Except later versions of PCM don't have a user accessible hard drive. Does PCM 6 have this? Or can you use a thumb drive in one of the USB-C ports?

Using a wired CarPlay audio source like Amazon or Tidal with higher fidelity audio will be like getting a new stereo installed. I used to use Spotify because they had all the music, but others have caught up and have much higher signal sources. You’ll notice cleaner sound and that you don’t have to turn it up as high to be just as loud, lets you get more power out of your system.

I was wondering the same thing... I would expect native Spotify to allow downloading the playlists, but without a hard drive, where would the source be from?

By wired CarPlay do you mean plugging the phone in with the lightning cable? When your phone is plugged can you still choose in whether to use wired CarPlay or wireless Carplay, or does it default to wired CarPlay because it is plugged in? (Sorry for all the questions, I am still eagerly waiting for my car)

When plugged in, you can still chose from Carplay Spotify or native Spotify

I'm of the view that 992s are amazing at being cars and modern phones are amazing at being, well, not cars. Full-screen Android Auto mod on my '20 992CS works a charm. This way the car can do it's amazing things, the phone can do it's stuff and I don't have to wait/hope/pray for PCM6 to come to 'older' 992s. Win, win, win all round

I don't notice any difference in sound.
