Upgrade grills

992 GT3 and RS have a front protective mesh. The TTS has a very minimal "cage" protecting front-middle intercooler. Looks like other non-GT 992 have the same. Side intercoolers are not caged. I'm thinking of installing these on my 992 TTS. Hesitating because I hate doing anything that requires drilling a visible surface. Can't be returned to stock without covering/hiding/replacing drilled trim.
Here's what mine look like after 1,300mi.

The RGS are quite flexible aluminum and are held with cable ties. The Zunsport are stainless steel and robust. They are held in place by clips that engage the rear surface of the opening's plastic surround plus a screw which attaches them to the triangular reinforcement on the high inner corner of the surround.

I disagree completely. A couple hours messing around with shape, then fine tuning on the CAD, chicken wire, clips and maybe powdercoat, more likely sprayed. $15 landed. They probably stock 50 max for each car they make this for. Shipping is their highest overhead if they don't pass it on to the consumer. But they probably charge for shipping. I didn't check that far. Kudos. A nice revenue stream. But I digress. I'll be buying a set anyway cause like others said, Porsche screwed the pooch on this one.

This is why I went with the RGS. The RGS are more than robust enough to serve the designed purpose of protecting the radiator.

Thanks for the reminder. I just ordered the full set for my 911T. I have these on my CGTS4.0 and love them.

Very happy with the RGS grills. They include a little standoff that allows the grill to be installed roughly half an inch behind from the “blade”. Maybe because of that added distance and pushing the grill further back into the fascia, it looks very subtle. My PPF installer put them on while they did the PPF and they said it was a bit of a bear, even with the front bumper off the car. So take that for what it’s worth, but I’m super pleased with the result.

Like I mentioned, you're denoting an expensive R&D cost so your valuing a weighted cost which I'd wager is completely off. I just glanced at the website but they probably make these for 10+ makes. They have the process down. They're not paying sh*t for R&D.

Spoke with RGS. They can't support non-GTS model 992s because of the active aero system. Makes install too difficult. I'm stuck with the Zunsport solution that requires drilling for my TTS.

Who is not relaxed? Just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I am worked up in any way. Debates like this are why we are all participating, no? My responses were polite and respectful - which is more than can be said about yours.

RGS sells something similar for $120 USD.
I'm not as familiar with the TTS active aero, but on a Carrera the active aero closes off at speed. If you're into it visually that's cool, but I think there would be no functional improvement since at lower speeds a rock is unlikely to cause any damage and at at higher speeds the opening is mostly closed off.
