I have my iPod touch plugged in to access my extensive music collection, but it doesn’t retain a charge. Does the USB only connect data, or is my cable faulty and fails to charge?

I don't know that answer but my question is why not put your music on your phone and kill two birds with one stone? I haven't used an iPod in years.

Habit I guess. I like to keep the phone uncluttered, the ipod is in reality a phone w/o the phone and a much larger music library. My E92 BMW is a simpler issue. Its phone link is rather primitive so the ipod makes sense.

Some are data ports and some have the correct amperage to run radar and/or phones. I tested the ports on my 2022 Macon GTS. The USB C in my arm rest is data only, the rear passengers plugs are power USB C. Plus in the Macan they hide the 12v plug under a rubber mat. I had the first GTS and the dealership never knew anything about that plug. Plus it's not in the manual.
