I am not sure caliper paint has a high enough heat rating. It says 350 degrees and an exhaust can easily reach 450-500 degrees. Hopefully you will be ok since the tips are not actually connected to the exhaust pipe.

Hey Char1982, how is the caliper paint holding up so far? I want to paint my oval PSE tips and yours came out great. I was looking at Foliatec 2 part epoxy spray as it's made for exhaust, but it has to be shipped from Europe. It may be easier to use a brush on paint considering the limited space around the tips as well as inside. Did you do any prep besides cleaning? Did you use primer?

looks the same 3k miles later. The exhaust tips aren’t attached to the exhaust so they don’t get terribly hot. Happy with my $22 project. Only prep I did was wipe down the tips with rubbing alcohol.
On my 981, the tips would be black with soot within a couple hundred miles of cleaning them. I like how the tips of my current cars get zero soot and don’t get black. 😊
But nice job. I can’t imagine these “fake” tips getting very hot, so I’d be very surprised if the paint doesn’t last. Plus, brakes can literally get red hot.
I tried this and followed the same steps. Just cleaned with alcohol. Didn’t use a degreaser or primer and didn’t scuff. I had a hard time seeing how well it was covering and used too much paint. It looks fine until you get close. You can see sone globs and streaks close up but the gloss black hides it well enough. If I were to do it again I would use a light first coat and then a light second coat if necessary I’m fine with it as it was $30, not $500 for tips and bumper removal for install

As long as you are OK with it, then it is fine- I guess. But that result would bug the hell out of me especially that last pic. Looks like crap!
