246km/h (153mph) quite regularly on the back straight of my local track . The car is still pulling strong when I have to hit the brakes.

My brother and I learned to drive out there, I was 11 at the start. And that runway was freshly resurfaced, I recall the plant they set up nearby to supply the bitumen. If only I’d known more!

Oh - while remembering things; my Alfa has a top speed of 120mph. It does that at the redline of 5,700rpm in 5th. Not 1 mph more, not 1 mph less. Of that I can vouch; those Alfa engineers knew how to gear a car.
And my kids give me static about wanting to get my cars on on a runway...sheesh. They keep wanting me to buy an airplane and then they'll get me on a runway...smart-alecs. Like I need or want that aggravation.

In case you don’t take delivery of the P2 and want to convert your 992:

The naval air museum at Pensacola is well worth a visit, allow 2 days to do it justice. Even as an old Air Force brat who grew up in and around military aviation it blew me away with the quality of the exhibits.

Oh, have decided to take delivery of the P2. With gas prices heading north again soon I reckon EV’s will become harder to get. It’s scheduled for delivery next Thursday.

It’s been a decade since last in Florida. Since my sister and her husband moved from Florida, haven’t been back. If we are looking for R&R at the beach, we either go local, back to Coronado, or to the Caribbean.

Enjoy…we do..immensely.

Word of caution (I’m sure you’ve been reading all the P2 posts about issues?): if you have a 2nd car, I would use that car on longer trips, until all these issues (not just Polestar, but most EV manufactures, including Porsche, are having issues that need to be sorted out). Whether it’s the car’s 12v or TCAM battery failing, bad batch of hardware switches…the source still needs to be determined. We now have close to 2K miles on the P2, but still restricting use to tips under 150-200 miles….as a precaution. The frequency of these problems is still very low, but disconcerting, nonetheless. Knock on wood, we have not had any serious problems to date.

Got her up to near 160mph at COTA. Don’t think 160 was officially achieved, but within 2-3mph.

I was chasing this guy at Le Mans in the summer and saw 172 mph on the speedo in my pov. spec C2. It still had loads left but a corner was coming up!
The interesting thing is that in the straights he was a bit quicker, but there was not a huge amount in it.

Maybe a turbochargers vs NA thing (also your driving skill )

I remember seeing the base C2 has a high top speed as well, similar to C2S/GTS

@aggie57 that intrepid museum with the SR71 on deck is cool too, though its probably changed a bit since I went

Exactly why my buddy, who tracks almost every week while the weather cooperates, prefers driving his “under-powered” Cayman on the track, than his GT3. He said there’s no better feeling when keeping up with, or even passing, a car that you know has 100-200HP more than you. Driving skills are a great equalizer on the track.

LOL. Lived there 1986-2020 in Gilbert, so yah, I'm familiar with the 202...although normal speeds? Since when does everyone do "normal"?

Although that curve from 101 to 202 is rather fun...heh heh.

No idea what you're talking about. There may or may not be some wheel marks left there once or twice by myself.

Agreed...minivans and Mom Soccer Suburbans rolling 95 like it is all in a day's work. Landscaping trucks slinging rocks as if their lives depended on it. Giddy up!
