I sold my 991.2 Targa 4 GTS in October 2021 and now kinda wish I had a 911 again. Sad story heard all the time I'm sure 8-]
Is there any hope of finding an allocation for a GTS Cab these days? What's the best approach? Call every dealer in the US?
A local dealer says they'll "take my order" but no idea on if / when an actual allocation might happen.
Perhaps just wait it out and see if normalcy (whatever that is) returns?
Thanks!

If you have a trade that’s desirable, you’ll jump up the ladder. If you have $30k extra, you’ll jump up the ladder.
If you want at MSRP, probably 2 years or SPY200. Whichever comes first.

Did you talk to Porsche Plano? Those guys are only selling to current customers to my knowledge. Try the other shops in town.
If your flexible on trim that may help. I heard one of my local dealers can get a c2s cab in 3 months.

Yesterday a salesman at my dealership told me it's easier to get a GT3 than an S. That shocked me.

Definitely call around to Grapevine, Dallas, and Fort Worth. I was able to get a 992 turbo coupe allocation from Grapevine and almost one year later I just took delivery of it. Grapevine was able to get me an allocation; the other three DFW area dealerships could not. Dallas typically gets the most allocations, though. No dealer markup.

My SA said October too, but still silent, and I just heard from him last week out of the blue.
I suspect it would be this week or next if it were to occur, but that is a TOTAL GUESS on my part.

Starting price for a GTS Coupe is $142,600. If the MSRP wait is 2+ years, and Porsche raises the starting price 5% each year, that equates to a $14,616.50 price increase. If you like the 2023 model, and know what you're getting, why not just pay the $15K ADM and get the car now? Just a thought.

Good luck to you buddy. I hope you get an allocation soon. I know Porsche is the most profitable auto manufacturer, but sometimes I get aggravated with their business practices. Certainly they know more than I do about the car business, but I can't help but feel like they would sell every car they could make; so why play games with allocations and limiting the number of cars they sell? Whatever price drop ramped up production would cause would almost assuredly be absorbed by increased volume. Unless of course the seemingly overwhelming demand for 911's is merely a product of reading the car forums. Who knows what's real and what isn't anymore. All I know is that anyone who walks into a Dealership with money in hand should be able to buy/order a car right then and there and not have to wait to be "permitted" to buy one. Must be nice to be able to business that way. And I don't accept all the talk about shortages and logistics any more. Those days are behind us and the manufacturers are just milking that nonsense for everything they can. Just take a trip on the interstate. There are more semi trucks than cars on the road these days; so I don't want to hear about how its tough to get product any more. Sorry for the rant.
