As I have stated, for me there is no universal "ultimate" 992, even though many believe their own opinion is an ultimate. Every particular use case, preference and budget will define what is each's own "ultimate" 992. While it might make picking each's ultimate 992 more complex, I love the fact that Porches offers so many subtle choices and options. I find these threads have value when folks share the rational why a given 911 variant better suits their own specific use case and preferences. I believe this helps the overall community by guiding eventual buyers with their own choices when comparing with their own use case and preferences. They might also help with clarifying some misperceived technical facts. I however find they can turn a bit annoying when some folks consider their own opinion as an absolute and turn everything to confirmation bias.

No, I don't agree with everything he says

PPF is a waste
The underdoor projector is just cool...

Attached is an email exchange I had with him when I got my car.

Now you’re making me regret not getting the puddle lights. I had them spec’d, then did a little too much “research” and took them off. Oh well.

Nick produces informative and enjoyable videos. His 992 options 1 & 2 videos were helpful as input for choosing options. I do disagree with Nick that the 992 GTS is just a badge thing. Maybe this was true for prior 911 GTS versions. The 992 GTS has helper springs in back which provide 50% more stiffness and the front springs are 20% stiffer. Front rotors are 58 mm larger/Rear rotors are 30 mm larger. 30 HP more and 30 lb-ft torque more. GTS is 10 mm lower with PSAM. And some like the Sport Design package with emphasis on black and center lock wheels.....Just because.... (PS -the AeroKit is not standard - Option only). Nick is looking for a 992 GTS to compare to a S. He has not driven a 992 GTS. More to come on this. Oh..there is that $20K more for the GTS vs the S.

It comes down to what is the Driving Experience you want. There are no bad Porsche 992 models. Just let there be "No Regrets" in your choices. I was told not to option AWD. Too heavy and you cannot experience that loss of control. The GTS AWD manual is only 19 lbs more than a GTS PDK. (the extended gas tank is 42 lbs plus more). And why do I not want to be safe around a curve? I opted for AWD. I was also told not to get Rear Assisted Steering. I opted for RAS anyway.........Obtain input but decide for yourself what you want. No Regrets!

RWD 992 are incredibly fun. I slide my car regularly, in controlled but fun ways, that are likely not possible with AWD, the AWD car would be too planted. Not to mention you can turn PSM to sport or off, both of which will let you feel some loss of control if you want

Nick’s an entertaining guy and I enjoy his commentary, but it’s only his two cents. IMO get the S+PDCC if you want a comfortable DD and a capable weekend track weapon. Don’t underestimate the track potential of the S. It’s more than capable on track. The only thing holding it back is the driver. While the GTS looks nice with larger rotors the S actually has a significant unsprung weight advantage with girodisc rotors when it’s time to replace….At this level of car most people are not going to be any faster whether in a S, GTS or even GT3. Here’s a video of the last session of the day with a 991 GT3RS, GT3 with big a$$ wing, and GT3. The sound of GT3s in triplicate was heavenly. BTW the lowly S was 0.60 sec quicker than this bunch on that day.

I like Nick and feel he's genuine even when I completely don't agree . He is gearing up to do a comparison video of S Vs GTS. He clearly hates the GTS even though he never drove one . He hates the Macan GTS too and considered one roll race (which the GTS did win) as his testament . I truly feel it has more to do with race tex than the car itself . Hes a truffle leather type of guy and race tex to him is like cloth in a Toyota to him (even though it isn't) . He can't get past this . The Carrera S is the BEST car FOR HIM !! In fact I think he might enjoy a manual Cab . They did change the roofline and diminished the hump that made forner Cabs look like an old fashioned bathtub . If he's walking into a review. exposing his bias before it the outcome is easily predictable .

The best thing i like about Nick is that he’s gotten under the skin of some Rennlist posters.

Well done, Nick 👍

Personally I take Nick's info with a grain of salt. If he does not like a color, he sais don't buy it....even if you like it! I especially like his "don't buy a last year of any model car" thoughts. Having had many "last year" cars (various Vett's, Chevy SS manual, Ford F-250's etc) These cars were all their best in their third or fourth (last) years as most if not all of the bugs were worked out. I have a 23' 911 on order and Nick thinks I should cancel it....Naaw, I think I'll get it!

GTS>S and its not debatable. Especially in the the 991 (wide body).

Just because YOU were not willing to spend more, doesn't make the S better or ultimate. Take money out of the equation.

A lot of logic in this thread is reminiscent of the Honda tuner days of the 90'-00's. Now the same as a guy buying a Camaro ZL1 or a Corvette and screeching about bang for buck.

Oh you dont like black wheels? Neither do I but you can buy different colored wheels just like how you can slap a tune on an S.

Some of the Base/T guys like to nip at the trim above and the S guys like to nip at the feet of the GTS. Also, a bit more rarely the GTS guys like to nip at the feet of the TT/TTS. Almost always money is the main subject.

Nick Murray is definitely a helpful tool for 911 education, hes made good videos on comparisons when he had a 991 (LED vs Bi xenon etc). However his opinion is no more valuable than anyone else's. Also, he's CRINGE at making drag/acceleration videos because he shifts like a whimp.. No offense Nick, I like you and I'm not Verstappen either.

If you're playing Forza or Gran Turismo on Xbox or Playstation and you're presented with an S or GTS to start, you're choosing the GTS. Enough said.

There, fixed it for you. Really though this is a nonsense discussion, as @CodyBigdog says Nick enjoys having a playful dig. I'm sure he enjoys reading these threads....now can someone who has a slightly thick skin and owns a GTS lend it to him for a day.

I hoped we can reach 200 posts! 😱

My car is better than your car is an argument befitting middle school. 😂

if anyone is loaning GTS out for comparisons sake, lend it to me for a day as well, i'll pull to the highest speed I can safely and compare it to how my S cab feels climbing to 181mph/291kmh...that way I can find out if there are any noticeable performance differences... im going to go out on a limb and say not really (we'll never find out hitting 181 in my S cabriolet is something most GTS owners never will do...so with that said)

coke zero or diet coke? Btw someone told me they drink mineral water and I was shocked to hear the drink water from nestle bottles instead of from kirkland
