Engine vibration on acceleration.
It was explained the the 992 version has a redesigned engine and transmission mounting bracket, which does not allow quite enough tolerance for the engine mounts. The mounts, which are highly engineered, contain a type of fluid, pressurized according to operational settings (normal, sport, etc.) have been redesigned, but still fit too snugly.
Of course, Porsche has not notified the owners, as different drivers have a higher tolerance for noises. The redesigned motor mounts cost around $1,500 each, which explains Porsche’s reticence.
As my mind and ears have been focused on the vibration, I now need to “let it go”.
Earl, that is an awesome answer. Despite how long this problem has been around and other threads on the same issue, I think you are the 1st person who has provided what sounds like the definitive answer. (Not to rule out that there might be other people whose 992s have had other causes for vibration)
Do you know roughly as of what date the redesigned motor amounts have been included in new 992s?

My 2023 992C2 is now in the shop with 300 miles on it, brand new car. I have a vibration between 1500-2000 RPM that was also diagnosed as Engine Mounts. Car is being repaired as we speak. I'll post an update if it clears up. The dealer did test my car against another in the shop to validate the noise was an actual concern... I was totally expecting to hear "it's normal for a 911".

Fuel pumps on the end of the camshafts in my 992 chirp like a house of blue ****, I just accept they do this but it’s bloody annoying. Happens around 1k to 1.5k rpm.
Noises higher up the rev range I can’t hear, I just hear engine, turbo, exhaust and waste gate.
It’s worth trying to really work out exactly what rpms it happens at, on/off/part throttle, try and record the noise if you can.

Chris.
I took my new 992 Turbo S with 150 miles on it to the dealer for the knocking at under 1800 rpm.
it took the tech 5 minutes while driving with me for him to make the diagnosis of electronic motor Mount noise. He said it’s a “normal operation” for the 992!!!!
Chris did your dealer acknowledge that the mounts were the problem right away ? Did they volunteer to replace them or did you have to make a big deal to force them to do it?
lets us all know Chris if the replacement of the mounts resolves the issue.
thanks

I took the tech for a drive, he didn't acknowledge anything during the drive other than he heard the noise I was experiencing. Later that week they called back and said they drove another 992 C2S that was in the shop and it didn't make the same noise. After some diagnosing they narrowed it down to engine mounts and said that Porsche also agreed it was likely the cause.
Car is still in the shop, close to 2 weeks now from when I dropped it off... not sure why it's taking this long but I'll be sure to post an update as soon as I get the car back.
It's unfortunate that this is a "normal" noise from some dealers. It really drives me nuts... reminds me of 3" exhaust systems I would put on my Civics years ago that wouldn't quite properly fit over the axle and cause vibration noises haha.
I think this noise is unacceptable on such a highly refined sports car. Period.

I hope the replacement of the PADM
(Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts)
will resolve the problem. It is definitely a design flaw that Porsche will have to address as more owner’s complain.
Please keep us up to date
thanks

I really hope they address this issue, and that others can get help with their cars. I'm still waiting, looks like it's close to being ready.
