The reading comprehension level on Rennlist is surprisingly low…

Shoot your shot, my man. Buy it, drive it, and love it. You’re not getting a Porsche to make someone else happy.

IMO the heritage interior option at $15K is a bit overkill for the standard Carrera but otherwise looks like a killer build.

I am note sure I agree. Regardless of the model, the interior is where YOU experience the car the vast majority of the time. Some people live in smaller houses than others but that's not a reason not to furnish it nicely. And its still a 911. Its not like your are putting a $15K interior into a $20K car.

Very nice! Some things I would think about, which would lower the cost...
I like my 14-way seats. I think they are just a touch cushier than the 8-way.
I'm not a fan of sunroofs - personal preference.
I"m glad I got the Extended Range Fuel Tank - keep this option.
The Ambient Lighting feels like fluff to me - your choice.
I'm very happy with my standard steering wheel (which is heated).
I'm skeptical of the Roof Lining in Race-Tex - you'll never notice it.

Just so we'er clear I'm not giving you a hard time. You clearly want a nice car. My advice is tell the dealer you'll wait for a GTS or S allocation. Another option is wait for the market to correct and find a 992 that way. Don't over build a base model.

This is a very beautiful build. Best of luck to you and don't ever sell it.

You said you don't keep cars long as evidenced that you have a 991 or did, and yet you built this one as a keeper.

Sounds like you are convincing yourself of that to justify the overspend otherwise you wouldn't over option a car that you would lose extremely big on at resale. That's dangerous waters.

If you typically change cars more often, I would hazard this will be the case again as people rarely change their patterns. That's just my read. Do what you want, but my guess is that you will love this unique build for some amount of time and then want something different and regret it either at sale or not be able to because you just can't deal with the huge loss on the investment.

I could be wrong. But ask yourself some real and difficult questions before you decide to do this.

I do agree on the math here. Just taking the base as configured by the OP, he's tacking on 30% to the base price with options. Changing the trim to an S with all the same options, you're tacking on 27% to the base price with a total increase in outlay of $15K more than the $153K (base+options as configured). Changing to a GTS, it's a 17% increase in with a total outlay of $19K more than the base as configured.

Just more food for thought.

Ha! I just pulled this month's Panorama out of the mailbox - and your heritage interior made the cover! There's validation for you.

I also saw that and kept it!
it also validates my chalk color choice since Porsche is promoting the sport classic in the same color combo

They spray clear coat over primer and charge extra for it…why wouldn’t they promote it 😂.

Often stated but the reality is the S brakes are only helpful on the track and even then by an experienced driver. You will feel zero difference on the street.

I live in San Diego and with all the bumps and dips entering any street or crossing any street, I scrape the bottom of the front every time I drive. I wish I had gotten FAL. Check your area and decide if you need it.

I tend to like heavier optioned builds, so my mindset is very similar to yours.
I ask myself the tough question all the time and there is no perfect answer, which I know you know.

Having looked at every single option in great detail over the past year, the aspects I wouldn't personally pick are:
-heritage
-ACC. This is one you'd want to drive, not cruise. I looked into the emergency brakes in case this is why you picked ACC- the car will emergency beep/stop for you even without ACC.
-racetex

I think you should keep burmeister. The bose black cover looks cheap and I've driven many bose 911s and the sound sucks.

The missing performance aspects which may be worth considering:
-FAL
-RAS
-Power steering plus

Other aesthetic stuff I like
-carbon steering wheel
-aluminum pedals
-LED matrix lights
-painted keys

Over-optioning is a tough choice. I ask myself the same question about the $50k worth of options depreciating. In the end, I think I need to sit in a car I love so I went with it.
