Default 992 driving much better after first 7k miles driven?

Not that I am complaining but my 992 just went over 7000 miles. Prior to that the PDK felt much "jerkier" or just not smooth under 20 mph. Now it is much smoother. Has anybody else had this happen?

Not uncommon.

The exhaust on my 2022 GTS after 1200 miles sounds much better

At 32,000 miles I now regularly achieve over 480 miles on a single tank. That is not being particularly careful either.

New mechanical components are "tight" on a vehicle - it is not unusual for car magazines who do long term tests on a vehicle to note improved performance in acceleration, gas mileage, and braking after 10,000 miles of use compared to the vehicle when new. Part of that may also be due to the "owner" gaining familiarity with the vehicle and just knowing better how to extract more performance.

Agree, for the first first 5K/1 year on my 2020 C2S I was thinking I would switch to something else sooner than later (911 or otherwise). Now with 12K miles on it - I’d love to keep it indefinitely. (But I take it in for issues every 6 months or so and that scares me out of warranty - don’t know if it’s because it was a 12/2019 build or not)

But fully agree- the car is a lot better now than it was when new - and yes some of that is me getting used to it, but I doubt all.

hear hear! (hehe)

I've noticed a couple of stages of improvements in my exhaust note too. Could certainly be my ears adjusting to the car, but initially I found the exhaust much too quiet, not very playful (no pops and burbles!), and a little flat even in the middle of the rev range (4k or so). The pops and burbles have steadily become more common for sure, and I also think the car is a little louder when low in the rev range now than it was at delivery. The sound in the middle of the rev range hasn't changed as much, but seems a little richer/fuller -- not sure how to describe it, but there are more tones. It's always been glorious at 7k+ though.

It's still not quite as loud as I wish it was in normal driving. I like the tone, just want more. Would sport cats make a big difference in volume at lower revs?

Excellent point. I experienced this before my tune, and then after my tune I had to relearn when I was getting peak power and try to keep my RPMs within that range. Plus you need to know when that boost kicks in.

Akrapovic slip-on with PSE cats. Sounds much better in every driving mode. Deeper, raspier, louder. Only downside is the cold start that is VERY loud.

Are you still happy with the Akra and would you do it all over again?

I’m only at 315 miles on my GTS, but I’ve touched 4,500 rpm a time or two, and I swear the exhaust note changes over to an angry beast right at that point, but then I let off the throttle.

Im dying to hear it at full send to 7,500rpm.
