Just got this news from a visit to a dealer and a conversation with the SM.
.Porsche isn't going to have allotments to build 992's beteween September 2022 and March 2023.
Supposedly insurmountable parts shortages and logistics.
Seems improbable..."fake news"?
Don't shoot I'm only the messenger.

Thanks for the news, it's actually nice to know what people hear out there, whether it ends up being true or not.
This is what forum talk is all about. Over analyzing, over talking and obsessing about our vehicles. Don't be discouraged by rude people. Thanks for sharing

Dealers have an incentive to push the shortage narrative for as long as they can....It is highly unlikely that Porsche/VW will shut down production of one of its most profitable model lines for 6 months. Car dealers are usually the most ill informed and dishonest people out there so most of what they say is either not based on fact or an outright lie.

Whether or not its true or note heard similar from my SA on Taycan allocations which are another top selling vehicle for Porsche. I think more likely there will be a significant shortage on allocations to US dealers this Fall thru the Spring so yes supply for new car shoppers will be tight! Those with Sept builds may just be getting in under the wire.

I would be very suspicions that dealers are making up these stories in an attempt to maintain markups as they foresee demand softening. It would not make sense for Porsche to cut US allocations at the present time as the US dollar is stronger than almost all of the global currencies. If there is going to be a significant production decrease then it is possible, but these cars are the last VW will decrease production of as they are very profitable, and they are preparing Porsche for an IPO. On top of that, even if this were true, only Porsche senior management would be wise to it, and the last people they would share this information with is the dealership employees.

Yes but my dealer doesn't charge ADM and both of my recent purchases 2021 992 Carrera S and 2022 Taycan CT-4 were both at MSRP or w/discount. So I do truse that my SA was not just making it up as I was there and willing to make a GTS purchase next and now. Info shared was from down the Porsche food chain that made it down to the dealership as they inquired about additional allocations as like most markets in the US there are now more buyers than cars available. Take it for what it is...but I think it is likely true especially when I hear of others unable to source cars easily in many areas of the US.

One possibility... they may be reducing allocations preemptively for the Winter in case of an energy shortage in Europe forces them to shut down factories.
