The reality is, everyone that has a base Carrera, S, or GTS, simply can’t afford a Turbo S, and we say everything we can to justify the one we ended up with.
I can easily afford a TTS. I just chose a manual S.
I don’t see how a GTS is in any way shape or form a mini GT3.
Different motor, transmission, suspension, aero.
And you proved my point, we want the Turbo S, just can’t afford it based on our ratios.
Sounds like you really want a Turbo S. I’ve never wanted a turbo S and that certainly hasn’t changed now that they’re going for $100k over or whatever it is.
I think the 911 is an amazing sports car because it’s an amazing sports car AND you don’t have to have $200k plus rolling around in the street for the experience.
I really hope anyone paying an ADM is safe but the value proposition is changing with these cars getting as expensive as they now are. A $300k + Turbo S? No, thank you.
Regarding OP’s question, I don’t feel you can go wrong with a rear wheel drive S or GTS. If you like a little more Motorsport go with the GTS. They’re both gorgeous cars.

I can afford a TTS but would never buy one bc of the PDK. Never. And with all less than due respect, that's a pretty ignorant comment to make dude
Thanks for that input , not sure its worth the 40k for me but maybe ill try to get by difference down to 15k and charge my dealer a AOM ( Additional Owner Markup) on trade in.
just curious, how is the $40k being calculated?
[GTS total] - [your C2S basis]?
i’ve never understood why some owners don’t trade their car elsewhere to snag the best value, irrespective of the new car transaction.

In many states, you only have to pay sales tax on the difference between your trade and your new car. With a six figure car, this can be a significant amount of money. It’s also why a trade-in at the dealer can be a considerably better deal than a private sale.

This…and it can be easier to snag an allocation when you have a nice car to trade in.

That’s correct . Gts - trade in. I could sell by myself but given the tax brake by trading in not sure it’s worth the hassle , also doubt I would get the allocation without the trade in. Still deciding .

What a TOTALLY stupid comment. You have zero idea what many of can, or cannot afford to buy…or for that matter, what our wives will agree to, or be OK with. Happy wife, happy life!

Curious-do you have a Turbo S?
I would not get a turbo S for 3 reasons:
no manual
too fast for the street to enjoy high revs
too expensive
