Don't junk the car or sell it, it's tech and can happen from time to time. If it continually happens it may need an update
Yeah after locking the car and coming back a little while later it was back to normal.
I got ahead of myself there, I think I was influenced by the thread from the guy whos instrument cluster went black and it ended up being a huge headache for him.
Mine rebooted for the first time yesterday. As I was driving, using apple CarPlay, the screen went black for several seconds and then came back on and continued playing CarPlay. After about 5 minutes, it blacked out again. This second time, CarPlay was no longer an option on the menu. When I got home, I parked, unlocked, and came back a couple hours later and it worked fine
I hope this doesn’t become a regular occurrence
I use Android. But just now my car screen did this. and then rebooted to a bunch of messages about Car Play.
Maybe there is an OTA update getting pushed?
Just to add this for the record, mine did this today at about 28k miles for the first time. PCA screen went black, was playing SiriusXM which stopped, had CarPlay active but not connected yet. After about 3-4 minutes the PCM started back up (rebooted), all by it self. So far, hasn't happened again.
