MY22 or wait for MY23?
Fortunately, I don’t have to make this decision yet… but I could get the call any day.
Who’s had to make the hard decision?
- I’ll take the MY22 allocation! A car in the hand is worth two in the bush.
- We are SO close to the MY23. Why not wait just a little longer?

Not likely any major changes to the MY23, and I'd say likely a decent MSRP bump (at least based on the MY23 718). Seems like a lose-lose, unless you're worried about the short term depreciation hit you'll take by the car being one MY older.

Wait for the 994.
It's so close to its debut ...

Curious.. you don’t think 992.2 is a MY23?

I doubt you can even get a MY22 allocation now, its going to be a 23 anyway.

The C2S and C4S are better and faster than almost every year before MY22. When I finally take possession of my dream car, I plan on having my C4S for at least the next 15 years. In 2037, I don't think it will matter if I bought a MY22 or MY23 TBH.

For a MY23, you’re waiting to pay several thousand more for the exact same car that Porsche was selling in MY22.
As others have posted, the 992.2 will be MY24 if Porsche sticks to its regular refresh schedule. Given supply chain issues, even that is not a sure thing.
My personal takeaway from the pandemic is that waiting is stupid. Life can be a lot shorter than you can imagine. Economic and market conditions can change dramatically.
A Porsche 911 shouldn’t be a protracted delayed gratification exercise. Waiting for the car to be built is enough. Why add to the calendar?
