Default Any issues from tuned 911 cars, thread…

If you tuned your 911, what issues/problems have you experienced (if any) after the tune (and which tune)? Ultimately, were the issues resolved?

Thx

I have m engineering tune to get rid of auto start stop, cold start noise and farty exhaust sounds. No performance increase. I’m very happy with it and have had no issues to date.

Can you specify to M-Engineering which features to remove? Example, remove the auto stop/start, but keep th fatty exhaust sound? Thx.

Yes, I declined performance increases and asked for those 3 features and they sent me a custom tune. Removing farts was new to them and they were willing to keep working the software if it wasn’t quite right out of the gate but it did not require any more work.

That seems like a highly expensive way to do what you can achieve by driving in sport mode

Or, if you want to get rid of the pops and bangs, just driving in Normal or Sport Plus mode

Ive never heard of anyone getting a tune and not increasing power, but hey—to each their own

That’s very useful info to know when I am ready to order my tune. Thx again.

It was around $2K which is pretty small money compared to lots of Porsches options, many with very subjective value propositions. This is a car that is mostly driven by my wife and house guests - people who generally don't feel like messing around with modes and settings every time they go on an errand (and frankly neither do I). There are zero instances when I ever want those "features' (***, loud start and farty exhaust) so might as well make them all permanently gone and I don't have to remind my mother in law to put it into "Individual" mode every time.

As to power, it has plenty already IMO.

I sort of understand. But a flash is also a potential warranty void. If im going to subject myself to that risk, might as well get the power. But your money, your decision

I have an AMR ECU upgrade along with Akropovic exhaust and 200 Cat. No issues and amazing performance and improved handling.

You're MIL is driving your Porsche? And cares about start/stop?

I can't even picture mine working her way into the driver's seat - lol.

Can you switch back and forth between the stock tune and the AMR tune? Did you happen to dyno it or run a 1/4 mile?

I am actually trying to imagine how great of a driver the wife must be.
