What people want and what the market pays, two different things.

$184k for a 4S was too high of a spec to begin with. Plus you’re really limited with a manual transmission.

OP - don’t be bummed out by all the anti-NC talk.

We lived in Chapel Hill for a few years and we loved it. Charlotte is more conservative but North Carolina is a lovely state.

And regarding your question - I’d keep the car. Once you settle in I suspect you’ll find that the finances are not an issue. And if there is an issue - it will be easy to sell the car with, at worst, a small loss.

Agreed $184k was a pricey build but it puts all this talk about selling at or above MSRP in perspective. The market talks more truth than the marketeers.

I put a 5k deposit and agreed to 8k over MSRP for my allocation. I’m trying to decide whether to buy the car and drive it, then sell if I need to put that money toward a home OR just back out now and lose my 5k. If I find a home similar price to me CA home I’d keep the car.

Given the craziness of the 911 market what is my potential downside on the car? I’d be buying it then potentially selling it 2-3 months later?

thanks for your help
can I ask which dealer in SoCal?
