What option(s) do you wish you had ordered?

Like many here have stated, the wait time was long enough to ensure I added everything I wanted. My car took a full year, so I had plenty of time…..and build codes…..and revisions made via my SA to lock my build down. My only “regret” was not being able to get the full AeroKit due to the stop-sale. I’ll add the wing at a later time.

I guess I was fairly lucky. Walked into a dealer in between Xmas and NYE 2020 looking to trade my wife's Macan for a newer one, was told about a 992 C2S allocation (which I really wasn't looking for), decided a few weeks later I wanted it and placed my deposit late January and the car arrived late May ahead of schedule. I think my build locked in March sometime. Prior to that I was thinking of getting a Cayman S but I was a year+ into owning my 997 and at that point the 911 was far more intriguing than the 718. It didn't help the Cayman's case that the 911 has back seats or that the Cayman was still on the prior model and was/is due for a revision.

It's confusing in the configurator, because it states "Ashtray insert for center cup holder." Yet, it looks like it's adding a cup holder.
What is truly the difference in having the smokers package? I guess maybe what I see in the configurator is an ash tray despite looking a lot like a cup?

I got lucky and found a car with everything I wanted except Sport Chrono, I would add if they offered a kit. I know some prior generations folks have figured out how to add (I think sun coast offered a kit?) so maybe with time someone will do the same on a 992

I’ve ordered three 992’s now & one thing is for certain. Each build turns out better than the last.

There is no one single option I would change on the 992 C2S PDK that I share with my partner.
But there are days that I wish the C2S was configured completely differently.
So, if I could order another C2S and keep the current one, I would order a C2S MT with no options except for PCCBs.

There are days that I am thinking I should have picked this or that. E.g. full leather for more "luxury" or go with a much more aggressive look with Lava Orange, aerokit, etc.
But at the end of the day, I realize that if I were to do it again, I would end up with exactly the same car.
As others have said, I had 5 months to decide before the lock date so I had thought my choices thoroughly

The long range tank, quite why it's not standard on RWD cars I don't know. It wasn't even an option on MY20 cars.

I did not get the front lift and living in San Diego I wish I had it anytime a cross or enter another street. I scrape the front two or three times a day. In a lot of cases just easing into the gulley along the edges of the streets causes it to scrape. Going at an angle doesn't help much. Check where you drive to see if you need the lift. The Chrono clock is completely a waste for me. I have the dial in white and it continually produces a shadow on the windscreen which is very disturbing and also I cannot tell the time on the clock most of the time because the white overshadows the clock.

Only thing I wish I had was Bose. The base system in my cayman was plenty decent, the base system in the 911 sucks because it doesn't have a sub.

I commute regularly to SD (downtown and San Marcos, and points in-between), rarely scrape and taking the car at an angle (slowly) resolves any scraping issues.

After tuning the car, all “wish I should have chosen options” gets flown out the window.

Which front design do you have? Maybe that is the difference? I also wish I had front lift. Living in the hills with the messed up roads makes it impossible to not scrape.
