I purchased my 2018 911 new from a dealer in an adjacent state......had them send me video of the inside and out, along with photos, docs, etc......I did the entire transaction over the internet and via phone and it all went well. They arranged private enclosed trailer transport to my door and it worked out perfectly. I knew that any problems would be corrected via factory warranty if anything was wrong with the car and/or in the case of a dent or scratch, that the dealer I purchased it from or the auto transporter would have to pay to have it repaired. I didn't want to fly out and drive it 1200 miles home because I knew i'd stand a worse chance of getting my windshield busted by a rock on the freeway or maybe something worse, like a car wreck. Ask the dealer about those issues and get a commitment on how they would ship you the car and how any body damage would be handled, and get it in writing. Another thing, unless they tint the windows, apply PPF and ceramic, if you plan to have those things done, you will possibly have to have paint correction once you get it home if you drive it yourself.

Did most of ya'll go with RAS? What's the consensus? Any concerns with the lithium battery it comes with, or long term reliability?

No, there's no consensus. Lol.

I have RAS.

I have it on my 991.2 S and I did enjoy it a lot on track days and spirited drives on highways and B roads. For me it was a must while selecting the options for my GTS, pick up date set for Mon 7th Nov, countdown is finally coming to an end!

YES. Added to my C4 GTS which is sitting at Emden awaiting her ship to San Diego and then to me.
I debated vs more traditional feel, but then thought RAS is a “weapon” of performing cars and the GTS is that, so let’s have that experience.
My goal is try track but really for roads and “everyday”.

It came standard on my 2022 Panamera Turbo S and I love it. Every time I drive that car I just want to keep on driving. Anyway I optioned it on my incoming 2023 C4GTS along with PDCC (you have to have RAS to get PDCC) and way too many other options but this most likely will be my last car purchase unless something special gets dumped into my lap. Famous last words I know. C'mon Powerball!!!!

Bottom line, battery or no battery headaches, get the RAS and PDCC if you plan on tracking or driving your car aggressively and take it seriously. If not, save the money. You won't believe how even/flat the car stays in high speed curves.

I also have a 2017 Chevy SS Sport Sedan (look it up if you care) and there's a S-shaped curve leading to a 60mph freeway I take sometimes. Traffic sign says to go 25mph. The fastest I've taken it in the Chevy is about 55mph-ish on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S' before the back end wants to get squirrely. Same place in the Panamera when I first got it I took it at a 102mph and the only thing stopping me from going faster was me chickening out even though the car was completely planted and not leaning a bit. I couldn't believe it. These cars are truly amazing. Have fun! Be safe, but have fun!

Edit: I'm a dope and made a mistake. I fixed it above, but to be clear, if want PDCC, you also have to choose RAS. I had it the other way around. Sorry!!

That’s pretty awesome news. Thanks for being the test mule; really opens up our aftermarket wheel selections.

Always happy to help, better the mule than being the result of a mare and a jack. 🙂

Drives me nuts that most of the wheel options on GTS are dark. Polished/silver wheels (as evidenced by the last couple of pics posted) look soooooo good.

Agree....wish their were more options for the CL wheels; only need a silver.
Had to draw my "special wish" wheel option for my GTS order; cup car CL.
