Buuuuuuuut it’s just an S with a little more power and heavier brakes that don’t equal better stopping power.

Pretty high praise.

Porsche are magicians and making minor changes that completely change the behavior/feel of a car. They did it with the 911R compared to the Touring. What people are missing; they did more than just minor changes. You change the whole suspension set-up, manipulate the software for the steering, and change the power delivery( and more power) coupled with a better sounding exhaust- a lot can be achieved.

I am even more excited now.

But-when I get mine mid-April I will give a very objective review- whether good or bad it will still be objective.

Did they compare the GTS back to back with a C2S? Or are they relying on memory?

If this wasn’t a back to back comparison, then I’m a little dubious about subjective comparisons to the C2S. At best, they aren’t blinded and the GTS badge does have a placebo effect.

But what does it matter? You can’t test drive these things. You can hardly buy them. And when it’s all said and done, there is no great reason to pick a C2S over a GTS unless the latter has some stupid high ADM attached to it. I just am skeptical about big dramatic differences between these models.

This is pretty much spot on. All of these cars are amazing, and I suspect you walk away gushing after a thorough drive of any of them.

Apparently it 'has' to be a manual to earn their praise.

Can't say I blame them. But I imagine a manual 2S would leave them just as enamored.

Exactly. Just like the reviews that call the gt3 the best car under $200k....or the GTS is only 10k more than an S! It isn't reality. The vast vast majority of people are now going to pay an ADM for anything other than a C2 (even on a C2 in some cases apparently), so let's call a spade a spade. With the ADMs being reported, a GTS can be significantly more expensive than a 2S.

If you have to pay an extra 25k ADM, is the value proposition of the GTS still the same?

Interesting that the 0-60 @4.1 is the same as a 992SMT.carl

0-60 is a silly measurement. I wonder how it got so popular. Look at 1/4 times and traps if available.

EDIT: C&D measured the PDK version at 10.9 sec @ 128 mph. I'd expect the manual to be about another second and a few mph lower.

EDIT2: Forgot to include the data most pertinent to your point - C&D measured a PDK Carrera S 1/4 at
11.3 sec @ 125 mph. The manual will be +1s and down a few mph also.

Yes, when the ADM for a C2S is 15k.

I am more interested in how it drives not how fast it goes to 60. Steering feel, damping, power delivery, exhaust ect ect.

I agree it was just a data point that was interesting because they list the weight @ 1510kg=3322lb i weighed my car and it was 3344lb. So the GTS weighs the same but more HP should be quicker need to see the 1/4 times. If 0-60 was all that mattered to me i would have gotten a PDK in my 992s and the GT3T coming in may. carl

If the author doesn’t have a stuffed gorilla, he can’t be trusted.

Funny how people see something in writing and think it’s true without questioning the motives or biases of the author. It’s a car magazine that relies on car manufacturers for access to their news and advertising revenue. Get a clue.
