Nice. Sounds like they are moving fast and will release the undamaged cars quickly.

I'm in Dallas so once they're done, it also shouldn't take long, if fixing any damage won't take long.

Default Unloaded

The ship is on its way to Vera Cruz so it is officially unloaded at Houston. If anyone hears anything about their car please don’t hesitate to post it here. Thanks.

Does anyone know how many Porsches were unloaded in HOU? Trying to figure the volume of cars to be manually inspected.

it is unlikely that it is just Porsches being inspected. The shipping company is liable for any damages in transit so VW will inspect all cars on that ship for damages. VWs, Audis, Porsches……and what ever else.

the ship holds up to 6,500 cars I believe so it might be a lot.

That's a lot of cars indeed but I'm sure they're very efficient at this. Likely there's a whole team of people checking the cars and I don't think they're spending more than 3-5 mins per car to be able to tell if there's damage or it's clean. At latest by early next week I'd expect to hear from my dealer, at least with some update on the timeline.

if it’s 1500 cars dropped in Houston and it takes 3 minutes per car then you are looking at 75 hours of inspections. Working 12 hour days you are still looking at 6 days before they get to the last car. So I think the time frame given that they will be all completed by 4/8/22 is realistic.

My SA just told me my car on the Composer, dropped in Houston, has an updated delivery date of 4/22. So it seems they are trying to move these out quickly.

Did your SA mention anything about the car having any damage or this ETA is for a clean one? If they do plan on releasing the cars soon, I wonder why they need 3 more weeks for delivery...

he has not responded to my question about damage. But my post was one minute after I heard from him via email. It was originally expected to be in Nashville on 4-8 but then arrived in Houston 10 days later than it was originally scheduled so the 4/22 doesn’t shock me.

Not to offer false hope, I talked to my SA today on my 911 delivery which is on the Supreme Ace coming next month but he said he personally had 4 customer cars on this one and none were damaged and others in the shop have reported the same. Good luck to all!

Last time I spoke to my SA which was yesterday, she said she wouldn’t know anything official until April 8. That being said, my eta just changed from 1/6/23 back to 4/15/22 about an hour ago.

fingers crossed.

So i just checked TYD and my C4S has shown for days that it has completed port processing, but still shows delivery of December 31. it doesn't look like completed port processing is the same as inspection, but who knows for sure. i also checked my wif'e's TYD on her 911 cabriolet and it was completed yesterday. Any wagers on whether she gets hers delivered before mine? of course hers still has to get through the Bermuda triangle since hers is going to Jacksonville. LOL
