Actually per the manifest for the Composer they should have unloaded over 2,000 vehicles at Davisville of which at least 770 were Porsche’s. My dealership GM was advised by Porsche corporate yesterday that the overwhelming majority of vehicles with significant damages were Audis as they were located on the upper deck of the ship at the time of the rough seas. He was also told that the Porsches received little or no damage and that undamaged vehicles will start being released the first week of April, ie a week from Monday. Staying positive for now.

I heard similar report from my friend who is president of a local porsche dealership. He said he thought most of the damaged cars were Audis. Fingers crossed.
Knowing my luck, my car will be fine only to be damaged/destroyed by some freak car carrier accident on the way from Houston to Austin.
The irony of all this is I remember checking the status of my car a week or two ago and seeing that it was in the middle of the North Atlantic. I then checked the weather channel and noticed that there was a large storm in the vicinity of the ship. I had visions of “a perfect storm” with 100 foot waves. Little did I know that I was right.

I just received a follow up email from my dealership. This confirms that some dealerships have been advised that they have a vehicle or vehicles that were damaged. thus far none of the cars going to the dealership where I am getting my 911 have been reported as being damaged. Keep thinking positive thoughts

If they do end up making the repairs in the port, after evaluating all cars, I'm probably in for a long wait. Starting to get dark thoughts of looking for alternatives. I really don't want to have to refuse this car

Sadly this may confirm that the info my dealer told me a while ago is accurate. He said my car came into contact with another one. No other details on the damage.

I have a carmine red 911 C4S at Davisville port. My wife has a shark blue 911 cabriolet that is being built this week. I hope she has better luck than me.

The Composer is supposed to get to port either late the 27th or early the 28th. The port is really backed up and that is the cause for the delay. This is according to an internal VW shipping schedule.

Spoke to my dealer today. Luckily my car is fine. Expected to get it either the 1st or 2nd week of April. Ordered it in July and this process has not been going smooth. At least my car is not at the bottom of the ocean……

I’ve got a shark blue GTS coupe on the ship. Waiting for it to unload in Houston. Hoping for the best! Delivery was 4/15 originally, currently 1/6/23. Debating what kind of damage I’m willing to accept.
