Default GTS track test = Motorweek

I find their reviews meh most of the time, including this one. Not a lot of track feedback. I'm curious if the brakes can manage power tracks. Nice images, light package. I could not hear him saying "sweet spot", lots of synonyms instead.

Without going into the details, the base Carrera brakes have always been strong enough for "fast" tracks at your typical DE session of up to 30min. However, none of the street car pads will be adequate and need to be changed.

I liked the statement regarding weight saving options and track times “money is better well spent on driving lessons” for lowering track times. Couldn’t agree more and add that the Dunlop around the belt line is better yet to shed and even costs less than driving instruction.

127 MPH trap speed. Very strong indeed. This car will be a ton of fun on the street, loads of power.

Me too, great tip for people thinking about those kinds of things. At the 2000 USGP at Indy, my brother got us invited to the Mobil1 party downtown (McLaren) by the head of Mobil1 Motorsport, "Pat D." We took a table overlooking the stage from above and Pat Davis walked up and asked if he could join our threesome which we agreed readily. What an enjoyable evening, he's as personable as he conveys on his shows, one I've watched for 30 years. Very nice man.

It'll certainly make me fit better in my damn seats. I had to spec "normal 14-ways" because of my waist line... dangnabbit.

Yes, and I like the comment about the GTS having more playful back end, that is an encouraging statement that suggests the GTS may indeed be a much better driving experience than the S. Can’t wait till there are more of these on the roads and rennlister opinions start to funnel in.

Exactly the reason I did not spec RWS on my GTS RWD coupe!

I agree! It sounds like the power bump may be more than advertised .

Not sure I follow, and I've seen this pop up on this forum before... I had rear-axle steer in my 991.2, and it does not hinder the back sliding out in any way, and is easily controllable. I'm not sure it's worth skipping on this option if the purpose is to limit its affect on enjoying oversteer.

Unless there's another reason you wouldn't want it... it does add complexity and more things to break, and the expensive lithium battery is required. Otherwise Porsche engineers seem to want it included on the GT3 so I'm wondering why some folks still aren't sold on this option.

I didn't make my statement to start another debate on the option. I too had it on my 991.2 C4 and M850iX, not a real-world benefit for myself regardless of cost or complexity. If anyone thinks they need it for parking, well that's their business. Comparing GT3 to other versions is moot.

Didn't they state the car had RWS in the video?
