Yes, after the 997 was tagged “the last analog 911”, values shot up, especially manuals. 997.2 PDK also do well. The tiptronic 997.1 cars are the cheapest entry point, but that slushbox sucks and ratios are all wrong.

As of any of us who have owned and/or driven a 997, the “analog” part is a gross overstatement. Yes, hydraulic steering and NA, but lots of dated cars electronics and gremlins with those cars.

Dunno about that, I drove a 997.2 C2S manual for 5 years and loved it. Yes the PCM is dated now but plenty of options there nowadays, however the steering feel and overall sensation of those cars was sublime. Plus it was a great size outside without really any cost to internal space. Love my 992 but if I had that and my old 997 to choose from for a cross-country trip then I'd take the 997. And yes, the 6-speed MT was better than the current 7-speed

There have been rumors for quite some time that Porsche will bring back the Carrera ST name from the 70s. NA engine, GT chassis, lightweight, I'd get one.

@CodyBigdog are you going to post that link?

The 911 ST is coming.

But it’s basically going to be easier to get a drop of unicorn tears than an allocation for the ST. And cheaper too.

Yep. It’s being talked about as the second coming of the 911R.

Allocations for those have already been made at the PCNA level and dealerships won't do anything apart from help deliver them.
