Cab rear window wont close

When I raise my top, one of the rear windows goes halfway up, and then goes back to being open. I can't close it, unless I open the door a bit. I took the car in for its first year service, and the service people didn't seem to be familiar with the problem, or have any concrete idea how to fix it.
Has anyone had the same problem, and was the dealer able to fix it. If so, let me know how.

Try re-training the windows. Hold the button down until the window goes down all the way - then hold it for about 10 seconds. Do the same for the up motion.
If that fails, it's dealer time. Window regulator may need replacement, at least in other cars.

Yes. Same thing happened to me within first few days of ownership. They sent away to Germany for parts and replaced the entire rear window mechanism. It has worked perfectly ever since. The repair was done at Rusnak/Porsche Pasadena (Calif.) Best of luck!

I had the same issue about a month after delivery. For me, it was the passenger's side. It appears that closing the door applies pressure on the small window and won't let it go up all the way and it goes back down. I took it to the dealership and they found a seal was broken and replaced the window. No problems since. It does appear to be a common problem with cabs.

Thanks to all. I will take to another dealer and pass on the experiences above. I assume it will take two more visits - one to get them to analyze and order the parts, and another to get the work done.

That’s exactly what happened. Took about 3 weeks to get the parts. Then a couple days in the shop. It sounded like a tedious job. I was the first one they had go bad. They gave me a Cayenne loaner while they fixed it. Nice ride. Pretty painless.

There's no question it's a seal issue. The window is rubbing or getting caught, so the "pinch-protection" system thinks there's something in the way and brings the window back down. This has happened a few times in my older 991 cab. My easy fix - with the window down, I spray seal lubricant into the crevase behind the window. Then, with the top and front window down, I raise and lower the rear window several times to lubricate the seal. I raise the window manually, in small increments, not using the auto-up feature. It always works for me.

Gummifledge window seal lubricant and then re-index the window will take care of it. If the Regulator is broken the window won't move at all.

Finally sprayed some WD 40 on paper towel and wiped off rubber seal along convertible top…solved.
